the only thing that peyton did wrong was twisting brooke's words around about "not missing Lucas". other than that...she did nothing to warrant that kind of reaction from brooke. so she developed feelings for Lucas again...so what? first of all, thats out of her control. you can't help your feelings. Its not like she went looking for it to happen, or looking to piss brooke off. secondly, she was trying to do the right thing, and go about it the right way by being honest with brooke about it this time around. she saw how being dishonest played out the first time... not very well. so she was only trying to handle it the best way she knew how, and how she thought Brooke would WANT her to handle it. and lastly, she also said that she wasn't going to do anything about it, and that she would BURY IT. and thats exactly what she did.

so what the hell was brooke so angry about? to this day I still have no idea....

Well, I partly get where Brooke is coming from...losing Lucas once was extremely hard for her, so I'm sure that Peyton telling her she still had feelings for Lucas must've brought back all those painful memories...because let's face it: What Peyton did to Brooke in season 1 was kind of a lousy, back-stabbing move.
But in season 3? All she ever did was being honest to Brooke so that she wouldn't make that mistake twice. And anyway, Peyton even swore to bury these feelings she had for Lucas in order for Brooke/Brucas to be happy. Who knows? Sooner or later Peyton might've fallen in love with someone else and if Brooke hadn't overreacted that much, along with some unfortunate moments and misunderstandings, BL might've been together still. *desperate wish of a BL shipper here* :D
But as for Breyton in season 3? I think Brooke was kind of overreacting there. /:

Agree with what everyone else has said! I think it just comes down to the fact that Brooke let her already-existing insecurities get the best of her... and because of that, WAY overreacted. Not to mention that if her relationship with Lucas was really that great, then this news wouldn't have bothered her, or made her feel threatened at all. But the fact that Lucas always made her feel unappreciated, and second best to Peyton all along certainly didn't help anything. But that wasn't Peyton's fault.

I love Leyton, but I didn't think that Peyton should have told Brooke. Well it wasn't so bad that she told her, it was bad that she was still in love with him. Brooke had already been betrayed by Peyton and Lucas and she was just starting to trust her again. It was not something she should have done.

It was bad of Peyton that she was in love with Lucas?? You can't help being in love with somebody. Like most of the above are saying, the only thing Peyton did wrong was twist Brooke's words around. Brooke's the one who told Peyton to be honest and Peyton was. So Peyton wasn't wrong AT ALL for telling Brooke that she still had feelings for Lucas.

If Peyton hadn't of told Brooke, Brooke would've barked off at her for not being honest. And so would most of the Brucas fans.

So what Brooke told her to be honest? Brooke told her that before the kiss and Peyton wasn't honest about the kiss, so why does she wait to be honest in such a tender moment? It's kinda a slap in the face!

I don't think there's such thing as "overreacting" when you've been betrayed by your bf & bff twice! Of course she was upset. She's human. Every one of us would be upset at that moment. Peyton shouldn't of been so indecisive. "I love Lucas" "I'm over Lucas" "I still love Lucas" blah blah blah. Get a life! Peyton was always so terrible to Brooke in that sense.

HELL YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!­!!!­!!!­!!!­!!!­!!! I thought the scene when Brooke slapped Peyton in her room was beyond ridiculous! She was honest with Brooke which is what Brooke always wanted and than she gets slapped for that? WTF? Peyton couldn't make her feelings for Lucas disappear and that is not bad. She has every right to love whomever she loves and she did nothing wrong in my eyes in s3 regarding the triangle. She betrayed and hurt Brooke incredibly in s1 and Brooke had a hard time recovering from that betrayal(from Luke & P.Sawyer). I understand why Brooke was furious and frustrated when Peyton confessed to her backstage after the "Naley" play because she was trying hard to put her insecurities of her relationship with Lucas aside as well as the heartbreak over the affair and now it seems like its all coming back...and she was scared of getting her heartbroken AGAIN!.I understand that,however, that was not reason enough to slap Peyton across the face.In 3x16 I think Peyton kissing Lucas was tragically beautiful because she was bleeding to death and the man that she has fallen for is there so of course any person who's ever been in love would agree that, you want to be able to express your feelings for the very last time..whether it be a tender embrace,a sweet kiss, or a beautiful saying. I find it hard to consider it cheating because they were in an impossible situation!!!!

It was WAYYY out of proportion. I think Peyton did the right thing to confess the feelings she had for Lucas to Brooke. It was really a matter of time till the whole thing came out. A drunken Peyton while listen to music said it reminded her of Lucas and a sleepy Peyton was saying ‘I love you Lucas'. Her feelings were becoming more obvious, regardless she admits it or not. So I think it was better for Brooke to know directly from Peyton, instead of hearing murmur while sleeping, they lived in the same room after all.
In S1, Brooke accused Peyton of being less than honest .. "I don’t know what hurts worse, you and Lucas sneaking around behind my back or you lying about it to my face. " Now that Peyton was honest, and was willing to hide her feelings two times for Brooke's sake she cut her out of her life. Really can't understand what Peyton did wrong. She can't control her feelings (we don't choose who we love). Personally, I see nothing wrong.
