It was the most important night of Leila's teenage life, Senior Prom. She was heading to the school with her boyfriend, Greg. As the two of them entered the building, they encountered Phoebe, the girl whom Leila thought was her best friend. They had known each other since preschool, and they had shared many secrets. Phoebe said, "You guys look great." Greg said, "Thanks." Leila said, "Why, thank you, Phoebe. You look great, too." Phoebe said, "It's not much, but it's something." After the music had started, Leila and Greg had one dance together. When Leila went to enjoy the refreshments, Greg said, "I'll be right back." He was soon out of sight. After talking to her science teacher for a while, Leila realized that Greg had been gone for twenty minutes. She began to wonder where he was. She looked out the window of the gym. His car was still parked in the parking lot. She then heard the sound of Phoebe and Greg giggling from a corner that was hidden from plain sight. What was so funny? Leila went to investigate, and to her horror, Phoebe and Greg were making out in that hidden corner. Leila asked, "What are you doing?" Phoebe said, "Oh, hi, Leila. I didn't realize anyone saw us." Greg said, "I didn't either." Leila said, "I wish I could unsee that." Phoebe said, "This is not what it looks like." Leila said, "Liar, liar, pants on fire! How could you do this?! I thought we were friends!" Greg said, "Leila, you should consider..." She cut him off. "Consider what?! That you were secretly in pag-ibig with Phoebe all this time?!" Phoebe said, "It would help if you weren't quirky and boring." Leila was deeply hurt sa pamamagitan ng that. She asked, "Do you really feel that way, Greg?" Greg hesitated and managed to say, "Well, I, um..." Phoebe said, "Quit stuttering, Greg. This was for revenge." Leila was confused. "Revenge for what?" Phoebe said, "For taking up for Rita, that girl who listens to New Religion." Leila said, "New Religion is a perfectly nice band. If you don't like them, okay, but don't put others down for being fans." Phoebe said, "Just get out of my sight!" Leila said, "That's what I was planning to do." She started heading out. As she was leaving, she saw Rita. Rita said, "Hi, Leila. Are you leaving so soon?" Leila said, "Yeah, I just remembered I had something to do." She looked like she was ready to cry. Rita asked, "Are you all right?" Leila said, "Yeah, I'm okay. Listen, I better go. Bye." She went out the door and started her two-mile walk home.
Hi, everyone! Antonia here, and this might seem a bit premature, but my 20th birthday will be here before we know it. On March 1, I will be twenty. That's less than a buwan away.
I'll be honest. I'm not ready to be an adult. Starting March 1, I won't be a teenager anymore. I have less than a buwan as a teenager. I'll wake up on March 1, and I'll be an adult. I just don't feel ready. Of course, those who are already adults have told me that there's not much difference between nineteen and twenty. I mean, there's nothing I can do on March 1 that I can't do on February 28.
Feel free to send me a birthday message, wish me a Happy Birthday on my wall, or post a picture on my club on March 1. I'm not begging. It's up to you. You can do all of the above if you want. Again, I'm not begging. It's up to you. If you're already twenty or older, feel free to tell me what's it's like. Do you feel like an adult? If so, when did you start feeling like an adult?
