One day, John and his mates were swimming in the lake. Suddenly, Allen got caught in the branches of a fallen tree. He tried to get loose, but he was almost under water. Peter saw that Allen was in danger and said, "Hold on, mate! I'm coming!" Peter tried to swim toward Allen and said, "I don't think I can get there fast enough." John said, "But I can!" Peter cried, "John! Are you crazy?! The water's too deep for you over there!" John started swimming toward Allen and said, "I'm going to get him out of there or die trying!" Since Caryn had taught him to swim, John became a faster swimmer than Peter. John managed to reach Allen and free him from his trap. Allen said, "Thank you, John." John said, "You're welcome." Stan said, "Great work, John!" Peter asked, "How did you learn to swim so fast, mate?" John said, "Caryn taught me." Allen said, "I'm glad she did. Your swimming lessons came in handy." John said, "I'm glad it did." Later, John told Caryn and told her how he saved Allen's life, because he knew how to swim. She said, "That's wonderful. Is Allen okay?" John said, "He's fine. He learned not to swim so close to fallen trees." She said, "I'm glad I could help you become the bravo hero I know you are."

Lots of people stopped them and asked to pet Klondike. He was very happy getting petted. One person said, "He's a beautiful dog. What kind of dog is he?" Erin said, "He is a tumawid between a German Shepherd and a Siberian Husky." Another person asked, "How old is he?" Paul replied, "He will be three months old later this month." Klondike enjoyed all the attention he was getting. He didn't seem to mind the noises during the parade. That night, he wasn't even bothered sa pamamagitan ng the fireworks. Carl said, "I think he's mascot material. He doesn't have a problem with crowds or noises." Lola said, "Yeah. He will do well when he starts touring with us."
