When Paul went to the drama club, he saw some familiar faces. His mga kaibigan were there. There were also some acquaintances he had been with in school plays in the past. He saw one girl who he had not seen before. She kept her long, brown hair in a ponytail, and she wore blue jeans. She seemed laid back and fairly quiet. Was she the one for him? At the very least, they could possibly be good friends. She took notice of him too. She said, "Hello." He thought she seemed friendly enough, so he sinabi "hello" back. She said, "I'm Maeve. What's your name?" He said, "I'm Paul. Are you new here?" She said, "Kind of. I came here last year, but I wasn't involved in any clubs or anything. To tell you the truth, I was scared." He said, "Don't worry. You're ligtas here, Maeve." She smiled. She said, "Thanks, Paul." Pretty soon, it was time for the tryouts for the upcoming school play. Paul and Maeve were chosen to go first. They were asked to play out a scene where one character was injured, and the other character helped the injured character. Paul naturally was able to pretend to limp. Maeve was able to convincingly pretend to be concerned, wanting to help. This impressed Paul. It seemed that Maeve was equally impressed with Paul's ability to pretend to be injured. After the tryouts ended, Paul and Maeve were told that they both got the lead. They congratulated each other. Paul said, "I'm not surprised you got the lead. You're good at acting." Maeve smiled. "I say the same to you. I look pasulong to rehearsing with you." He said, "Likewise." After a pause, he said, "I know we just met, but would you like to go out for hapunan later?" She said, "Certainly. I'd like to get to know madami about you." He said, "I'd like to get to know you too." Paul couldn't wait to tell Hank that he got a date. He wondered if maybe Hank got a petsa as well.
When Greeley's birthday finally arrived, Leila went to Greeley's house. When she knocked on the door, Greeley answered. He said, "Hi, Leila." She said, "Hi, Greeley. Happy eighteenth birthday." She then handed him a card. He said, "Thank you." When he opened the card, the konsiyerto tickets fell out. He said, "You got me konsiyerto tickets!" She said, "Yes, and not just any konsiyerto tickets. I got tickets to see New Religion. They're having an outdoor konsiyerto this evening." He said, "That's bloody amazing. Thank you, Leila." He hugged her. She said, "You're welcome, Greeley." After dinner, they had some cake. Greeley said, "This is the best birthday I've ever had." Leila said, "It's not over yet." He said, "You're right. We have a New Religion konsiyerto to go to." She said, "That's right. We better go if we want to get good parking." He said, "Right." The two mga kaibigan got into Greeley's car and headed to the concert.
Shortly after the incident, the members of The Devil Wants Peace were interviewed. The interviewer asked, "John, is it true that you overcame your fear of water before you saved Allen?" John replied, "It's true." The interviewer asked, "Is it true that the rest of you were surprised when John swam so quickly?" Stan said, "Yes. I knew that his girlfriend, Caryn, taught him how to swim, but I didn't know she taught him to swim so well." Peter said, "I was impressed at how bravo he was, too." Allen said, "Yeah. I'll never forget what he did for me." John said, "Thank Caryn. She's the one who taught me how to swim." Caryn saw the interview on the news, and she was very touched. Later, John sinabi to Caryn, "Thank you for everything you did for me this summer." She said, "You're welcome." He said, "Your pag-ibig for me is what motivated you to help me, and in the end, I was able to help my mates. pag-ibig conquers fear. I truly believe that."
