My mother wasn't big on reading, the second I saw a book in Kindergarten, that was all she wrote. I taught my kids to read waaaay before that age ;)

I find it hard to beleve that anybody learned how to read well before there fourth birthday, and if you could how would you remember. Scientists have proven that even the smartest of kid can only remember things from there past if they happened after the age of 3.

Really tvman? I say bollocks to that. I remember an event from when I was about ten months old. I remember being held on a bus, and seeing the route bus took and all the people on it (that I could see from my mother's arms), and then hitting my head and closing my eyes, next bit I recall after that is being at my grandmother's house.

After I relayed that I remembered this to my mother some years ago, she said that it was because the bus almost crashed on the corner going to the road on which my grandmother lived, and said I hit my head, but not badly, and shortly after went to sleep and woke up again at my grandmother's house.

So, yeah, kinda disproves your theory. Either that or I have enhanced memory like Charlie off Heroes.:-P

Ironically, I had already taught myself how to do multiplication tables before I even learned how to read.

Although I wrote my first story when I was four!!!

I learned my times tables at 9 months. I was a geinus baby... Well, I'm a genuis now, but yeah. I remember my first bus ride. it was a Tuesday, I was 5 weeks old, and my mom called my Sennsy... dunno y tho... =)

I was 5 when I could read easy books.. 6 when I really could read.. 1st grade.

I dunno. Maybe 4

I really can't remember at all. I'm going to assume earlier than five, though. I really liked playing that computer game Reader Rabbit. xD

And the earliest thing I can remember is a teddy bears picnic from when I was three and a half. ^^

I remember I learned to read a few months before kindergarten, and when I went to school I was all proud that I could read my "Spot" flip books, none of the other kids seemed overly impressed though, a shame really.

I use to love to read.
I read 86 books in the 3rd grade.
Now I'm reading one book.It's taken me 1 month to read.I'm already on the 3rd chapter.
I hate reading,now.
