It was December of 1863 around midnight, Delphine was in her bedroom talking with Clara, her best friend. Clara was the daughter of one of Mr. and Mrs. LaLaurie's house slaves, Jenny. Jenny worked mostly for Mrs. LaLaurie, helping out with sewing and house keeping and what-not. Jenny is also Mr. LaLaurie's lover, Mrs. LaLaurie is aware of this and doesn't mind though no one outside the house-hold knows. Jenny was treated nearly as well as Mrs. LaLaurie herself.

Clara was born blind and couldn't work, most of the time she stayed in Delphine's room at night, they were best mga kaibigan and half-sisters. Everyone on the Plantation was asleep aside from Clara and Delphine who giggled infectiously talking of boys and parties and dancing. Clara was only 3 months younger than Delphine, they were both 18.

There was a loud bang noise which startled the girls causing them to scream. Jacques, who's bedroom was susunod to Delphine's woke up at the screaming, he went into her room to see Delphine and Clara huddled in the bed.
"Now what was that noise and why in high heavens did you two scream so loudly?"
"i don't know Jacques, somethin's goin on" Delphine sinabi with fear in her voice. The Union army had raided the O'Leary's plantation yesterday, could they be coming for the LaLauries now?
"It came from downstairs it did!" Clara sinabi just before a loud gunshot was heard.
Jacques' eyes grew wide, "stay here, lock yourselves in and keep quiet." he sinabi and went into his room, grabbing a rifle.

The girls did as they were told. Jacques when downstairs to see Jenny crying over Mr. LaLaurie's body which had surely been shot several times and laid susunod to Mrs. LeLaurie's. Jacques started firing at the Union soldiers but soon they shot him down. The girls heard someone coming upstairs and hid. The door got kicked down and a Union soldier who wreaked of liquor and cigars grabbed Delphine sa pamamagitan ng the hair and shot her. The only lives spared that night were those of the slaves, including Clara and Jenny.

In the spirit realm Jacques and Delphine found each other and then the Spirit of and old VooDoo priestess came to the two of them and offered them a deal. If they devoted themselves to the spirit of VooDoo, New Orleans, and Mardi Gras they would be resurrected in new bodies the same as they're old ones. Every taon on the anniversary of that night Jacques and Delphine have to Sacrifice two humans and eat their hearts. If they ever neglected to do this they will be dragged back to the spirit realm where they'd be damned to limbo forever.

She was a photographer. Always making things immortal with her camera. She'd never alter them on computers; Never used black and white or sepia. The picture would always be protrayed as it was...the only difference being that the image would stay there forever, encased in her little world. Her camera.

I respected that.

She lived in the apartment room just above mine, I would always have the tv on real loud, getting a lot of complaints from the other tenants but I didn't care. To hell with them. The tv blocks out every other noise that bleeds through the walls,...
