Is it okay for your best friend to say that 'you are madami important than my mother'?

I am utterly confused with this scenario. One of my good friend sinabi this and i freaked out. I am dreading going to school and facing him.

But if they get along fine then you should be alittle worried. I mean no matter how much you mean to him he should always pag-ibig his mother...more than you..no offense! Yeah he does have certain issues at home. But i dont like anyone giving that kind of comment. I mean your mother always comes first no matter how good a friend you are u know...

Yeah i did before the holiday and he does not stop bringing the same topic at every convo so it is getting kinda of annoying. Constant apologising and all

I say stuff like that like when I'm at a friend's house, I say, "I would rather live here with you than at my house with my family." I don't mean it. Hopefully he doesn't mean it. If he does, there's something wrong at tahanan between him and his mother (not jumping to conclusions or trying to offend you, just saying, that's where problems like that start).

Like Robin said, there might be something going on at home, and you're the only person her gets to talk to? Sorry if I'm getting this all wrong. Maybe he's starting to like you. Maybe it's both. Just, don't avoid him. If you do, he'll be crushed.

Yeah i realise and i know what you say is absolutely true but u know like the saying once bitten twice shy... that is how i feel. Its almost scary to some extent

Sorry...but you should probably ask him about it because if a friend sinabi that to me, i would freak and tell the straight up "no" because i know im not that important. I knew my mga kaibigan for 7-8 years and i know im not as important as any mother.

Or maybe he sinabi in the heat of the moment and tried to confess or something but it came out as that >////< maybe he likes you madami than a friend. (advice straight from a shoujo manga XD jk)

Yeah i absolutely agree with all that you have said. I can never be inportant or even compared to a mother for goodness sake. And i never want to be that important in his life. He does have some problems at tahanan they dont communicate well. The thing is i told him as such that he is being incredibly mad so now he wont stop bring up this topic at every convo and keeps apologising. It is quite off putting. Thats whats sad, we were great friends.
