Is it weird that i'm afraid of bras?

Well...I kinda am afraid of bras and my sister always teases me sa pamamagitan ng throwing them at me and I literally scream and start to run away. My mom finds it hilarious but she tries to hide her laughs and says "its a natural part of life, you need overcome this fear" ahh god, i really tried to overcome it but I get way too frightened at the sight of one. I think i'm afraid of them because i'm unconsciously afraid of growing up. Do you have any ideas of how I can overcome it? >_< I have to grow up sooner or later and wear one.

I cannot go near the bra section in the department stores, I can't go in the changing room because everyone there wears one, so I have to go to the personal bathrooms. I stutter when I say "bra". It's getting annoying...I need to grow up and wear it in two years or three.

You know, as I read madami of your commments, I think your fear has less to do with bras and madami to do with growing up in general. Which brings me to this: go see a guidance counselor. It is totally okay. You seem to have a fear over what is happening to you and your body, and you channel it out on bras. You seem to not like the change. Talking to someone about it will ease the transition. And if your guidance counselor says you need the help of a professional therapist, just go. There is no shame in it, madami girls than you think go for therapy during puberty. Everyone is afraid of their body when they hit puberty. EVERYONE! Even ninjas. So ease yourself into it, see a guidance counselor, and remember, it won't kill you, and what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

I have a similar condition. I'm scared to death of underwear and my sister does the same thing.
Try forcing yourself in to situations where you have to deal with them, until you force yourself to get used to them. Keep yourself in that sort of situation without giving up until you are comfortable around bras, and everything will be a-okay.

segundo of all. Seek out fear and destroy it. Conquer what has always conquered you. Once you do the things you fear, you will see that you need no longer be afraid.

I'm going to tell you a little story...

When I was eight, my mom told me it was time to wear my first bra...

sa pamamagitan ng the time I was your age, 13, I was in a B cup...

I am now 17 and in a D.

So I give you no sympathy.

And actually, not liking to talk about underwear is okay. I will not talk about it with anyone besides my mom and my local bra salesperson. Even talking about it with my bff is off limits. If she even starts I make her stop. So it is TOTALLY fine if you never want to talk about it with anyone besides your mother and you can and should tell your sister to leave you alone, that this is something private between you and your body with the assistance of a trusted female, such as your mom. So instead, you can talk about it with some stranger over the internet, if that makes you feel better.

But here's the thing, you have to wear one eventually. Sorry honey, the rules of being a female apply. And here's the other thing: Once you have boobs, you won't be comfortable not having a bra. A bra supports so they don't fly around and hurt while giving you shape and making you look feminine.

And let's talk about boobs for a sec:
1. Men pag-ibig 'em
2. You need them to have children one day
3. And yes, bras are a pain.

My suggestion is to ease yourself into one. And that means now, not in two or three years, because sa pamamagitan ng then, you'll need one badly and will have no clue what to do with them. You probably need one now just to protect yourself and don't realize it.

I would start sa pamamagitan ng wearing a cami with the bra-like material underneath. Try wearing this as much as possible. Then, ilipat on to a nice, thin, no underwire, simple cloth, no padding bra. Then go up as you develope more. A good bra salesperson (if you go to a damit pan-loob shop, they will measure you and help you find a bra right for you) will help you do this.

However, if you cannot even walk into a store or if your fear becomes REALLY irrational, then you might need to consider seeing a therapist to help you overcome this.

Hope this helps.

No, not at all, I didn't want to start wearing one at all,

BUT they are extremely comfortable, (half the time I forget I'm wearing one) You just have to get used to them, they grow on you.

They don't hurt, and they look nice. they aren't so bad once you start wearing one, trust me.

Start with Taring bras or sports bras, and slowly ilipat to an actual bra, it might work.

This might sound cheesy but how about Goal setting?

Put Bra on for like 20 segundos or however you think could work for you. If you manage your time try a higher time. Like go from 5 minutes, to ten, then fifteen, and so on.

Good luck!

I agree with misse1000. It's fine for now when you probably don't have anything there but sooner or later something will turn up and it will hurt if you don't wear one.

You should ease into it when something grows.

I honestly was afraid of bras too. I've had to wear one since the 5th grade (11-12) but i didn't actually wear one until 8th grade (14-15). I honestly don't know how i did that. Can't do that now, people would notice.

As for stores, i have no idea how to deal with that because my mom buys my bras for me.

So don't worry about it, you're young and everything will be ok. Your fear will fade away in the susunod couple of years.

I see that you don't want to look feminine (according to one of your comments) but look like yourself. Well that's different then. If you ever grow any, you could always strap them down and not have to deal with bras. I don't know you could always change your mind.

So remember, you have options

I refuse to wear one. My sister is a few years younger than me and she does.... she throws them at me too.
I used to be almost deathly afraid of growing up and stuff. It was like the thought was haunting me for two whole years. Anyway, once my sister started to grow up a bit too, I realized it was okay and I didn't need to worry at all. I still refuse to wear them, but slowly you will realize that it's okay to wear one because every (girl) your age is going through this too and you'll have to overcome this fear sooner or later.

Honey, I understand what your going through. When I first tried one on, it was a bit uncomfortable, but something about it felt right. You definitely need to wear abra when you get older. Because if you don't wear one, your breasts won't be lifted up, they'll end up sagging down. And no one wants that. It may be hard now, but you have to overcome your fears in order to ilipat on in life. And also, if you go around not wearing a bra with certain shirts, lets say a white one, your breasts will be very easy to see, and that would be embarrassing. I know growing up is tough, but it isn't polite or lady like to go around not wearing a bra. To help you get through this, I would say talk to your mom about it or a therapist, and be serious about it. Or you could try a training bra, and you've got to listen to me when I say, it's not like a bra is going to come alive and hurt you. Because that's just not possible. I hope that helps in some way (:
