my dvd-rom drive is broken...

i have a chunky desktop and my dvd-rom drive is broke. i got the Sims 3 from walmart today and it doesnt read the disk when i put it in. it flashes the disk sign a couple times then it's like there's no disk in at all. Help please?

i tried putting a cd in and it read that... i am so confused!! >.<

That's strange, I used to have sims 3 on my desktop. and I'm currently installing sims 2 on my laptop.

Try cleaning the CD and the CD drive. and if that doesn't workk, try a different CD to see if it's the sims 3 CD or the computer
