Do you think I've created a "Mary sue" character?

I heard of the expression a "Mary sue" character, and if you don't know it's a character the may-akda (these are often found in tagahanga fictions) has created that are seemingly perfect that everyone likes and is good at everything with almost no flaws. I'm afraid that I've created one.

So tell me if this character I've created is coming off as a "Mary sue"

The girl I've created is named Jennifer, [I just sinabi I'd name her the first name I heard and that was it] she can play the guitar, is a pretty good singer -but only because she took lessons- and can dance alright, as well. But she can't ballroom dance, has a bit of a shopping + drinking problem, (She's not an alcoholic but she gets REALLY drunk when she does) she has abandonment issues, hates rats like there's no tomorrow, is VERY stubborn and is a bit of a wimp. The manliest thing about her is that she works out a little. (which she does mostly to hang out with a guy she likes) She's a pretty good size, but is no Barbie. Her past isn't all daisies and lollipops, but she's really a nice girl. She can get jealous easily and is a bit emotional. She's a charming girly-girl.

Another girl I have created is her adoptive sister... I'll tell you about her, too. This young lady is named Regina and is a Cree first Nation. SHE'S the one I'm most worried about...

She is exceptionally beautiful, (Cree women were known to be so beautiful that they were stolen sa pamamagitan ng neighboring tribes, so this is logical) is really good at singing, dances a Cree dance very well, and is respectful. It seems like she's a "Mary Sue" to me sometimes... But I haven't completely developed her yet, I need to figure her out myself. I do my research... Cree people were taught back then (she was raised like "back then" but takes place in the present) to be respectful to everyone and speak only kind things to one another and if somebody did otherwise they were seen as kind of a mean person to be avoided. So that's just how she was raised... That

Her 'flaws' is that she likes to tease her sister and can be sarcastic in a funny way. She has a good throwing arm, is traditional so she likes water madami than soft drinks or juice and is naive when it comes to pag-ibig and crushes. She's shy around men and likes wild meat madami than vegetables.

I am going to include a link with a GOOD paglalarawan & I think your character is madami the one on the left <see below>

Lol, yeah definitely. Even her "flaws" are pretty perfect. Just give her a tragic flaw or something, like in ancient Greek plays and myths. One big thing that screws with the storyline and keeps her from being a Mary Sue.

imo, they are quite mary sues. true, you give her some things she can't do, but you continuously describe her as "good", "alright", "charming", etc.

i would recommend removing or adding certain traits so that she's not much of a mary sue and madami of her own character. be careful what traits you give her; some traits could destroy the character while others would benefit her. knowing which will make or break a character is crucial

madami importantly, don't lose the main point of this character. don't oversimplify her, but also don't give her too many traits

you also might wanna be able to distinguish between quirks and traits. a trait is a part of someone's personality. a quirk is a strange aspect of a person.

Actually yes. I do know girls like that at school, but they are seen as overachieving, annoying, preps. She seems popular with no human faults that actually count as faults. Try making her madami realistic. If i were you i'd give her a deeper side so that she isn't just a vacant, girly shopaholic. Like maybe she only acts a certain way around friends.

OH NO You named her Regina? Ever seen Once Upon a Time (the TV show) The evil queens name is Regina. That's why when ever I see someone working at walmart if their name tag says Regina or Cora after we leave I go "her name is Regina!" or "Her name is Cora!"

Jennifer seems fine but you definitely need to give Regina some flaws. Flesh her out a bit.

Here you go. Take a look. I found this for you. It shows two basic characters and traits:

Not sure, but she is definately NOT perfect and not even mediocre (maybe just boring) when you have so many detail. Like the dancing- if you don't want her to stand out then just say she can dance "alight" - do things "alright" - where NOTHING is of particular mention or extraordinary or different. If she drinks [& gets drunk TOO when she does-which is sure NOT normal] that is a major flaw and a Mary Sue would not have that, plus "abandonment issues" - no, not sure about that either. That is madami to her even than needed maybe & madami character forming if you get into those details. "Mary Sue"'s r also very plain and very boring. Not sure why you want that. Personality isn't all things anyway, it is "reasons."
