Studio Ghibli
Their pelikula have madami variety and they're not afraid to not have a happy ending. They deal with madami real life problems in madami realistic manners (environment, war, family, love, relationships, feelings) and while most of their pelikula have some sort of magic or alternate setting, their characters are still incredibly realistic and are easy to connect to. I find it easier to relate to many a Ghibli character than a Disney one. While I did see some Ghibli pelikula when I was really young, I did pretty much watch Disney, heck I still do.
Another thing Ghibli does very well is they make the pelikula accessible to people of all ages. While they do deal with things in less childish manners (they don't solve problems through song) out of all of their pelikula (I looked up every film from Nausicaa to Princess Kaguya) only 3 are rated PG-13 (The Wind Rises, Tales From Earthsea, and Princess Mononoke) every other movie is either G or PG (exception; Grave of the Fireflies is Unrated). My friend and I went to see The Wind Rises in theaters and her dad went with us, he was rather reluctant to go as it was an animated movie (presumably meaning it's for kids) long story short I got my mga kaibigan dad addicted to Ghibli.
Another thing I absolutely, I mean ABSOLUTELY pag-ibig about Ghibli THE FEMALE CHARACTERS ARE AMAZING. Their lives don't revolve around waiting for a man to ipakita up, and they don't sing their time away. (Yes I know not every Disney movie has singing, but it's something considered very iconic to Disney and is common in most if not all of their most popular movies)While yes Disney is creating better female characters, Ghibli has been doing it since the early 1980's, it's something they've become known for, it's something they ipakita no sign of stopping. Not to mention they do this while still putting in great male leads don't get me wrong.
While Studio Ghibli is slowing its production down, they're going back to pre-Porco Rosso freelancing and it will most likely be a long time before we see any madami Ghilbi pelikula in theaters, meanwhile Disney is making just as much money as ever it could, Ghibli is something that will remain in peoples hearts. Ghibli is something that will stick with a person from childhood and through adulthood, like I said, being madami accessible to all ages and dealing with issues in a non-sing song way.

That is to say I don't like all Ghibli movies, and I don't hate all Disney pelikula I'm hoping to see Big Hero 6 this weekend, but I'm also planning on seeing The Tale of Princess Kaguya is December when it comes to my city. While I do prefer Ghibli I do like Disney, it has it's charms. I would be rather hesitant to really say one is completely better than the other. I think it is important to acknowledge just the fact that Disney is way way way madami popular than Ghibli in the U.S at least. (Frozen actually just broke Disney's Japanese DVD sales sa pamamagitan ng just recently selling 3million copies since it's July 16th release).

Extremely tough tanong :(

The animations from Studio Ghibli are absolutely stunning and beautiful, a kind of beauty that Disney hasn't quite touched on before. But to be fair, I have only seen the work of Studio Ghibli in kamakailan years/late teens, which leads me to my susunod point...

The work of Disney is just so nostalgic for me, I grew up with it, and I pag-ibig that traditional Disney magic, songs, characters, everything.

So I pick Disney.

While Disney does have some good movies, they always involve the same things (Love, Singing, Princesses, ETC...) whereas Studio Ghibli shakes things up and is different with each story. I feel like Disney gets so old after a while so I must pick Studio Ghibli. Have you seen Grave of the fireflies? Disney could never make a movie like that without making it kid friendly, and WWII is not a friendly topic at all... See, Studio Ghibli may be an animation company, but they are not afraid to stray away from the stereotypical Disney animation and will make masterpieces.

Gomen to all the Disney fans, but I'm really going to have to go with Studio Ghibli on this one. Honestly, even as a child Disney pelikula tended to get old to me. Sure, they were great in their own way. But they always created the same romance, same pag-awit theme, same kid-friendly atmosphere, etc. But Studio Ghibli has really hit me in ways that Disney never did. The stories are all unique, they vary each time. The characters were also varied, and far madami likeable to me than some princesses. Not to mention special pagpaparangal to them for their animation, which blows me away every time. It could just be that Disney isn't as nostalgic to me as it is to so many others despite growing up with it, but in terms of pag-ibig and enjoyment factor, Studio Ghibli takes the cake.
