Hey, techno geeks! I need your help.

Okay, so my boyfriend has an incredibly sucko laptop that he's had for years, but he doesn't go a araw without using it. His birthday is coming up soon, and I want to buy him a new one. I need help finding the perfect one for him.

He's a gamer, but not very much on his laptop, he uses his computer the most. So, I want something that'd support his games really well, but it can just be simple. It'll need some good speed and storage, but nothing too fancy.

I'll spend a lot on that boy, and my budget is reasonable. However, I do have quite a colony of moths in my wallet, so I'll say that I can't go much over $500.

Any bit of payo will be helpful! Thanks, you guys!! :}

My payo to you is to go and look at laptops, for a start. Because you're in a different country, I don't really know if they have, necessarily, all of the same laptops they would sell in my country, nor would they be the same in pricing.

What I can tell you, however, is that $500 won't get you something that will support the latest games, or even many of the kamakailan ones, either. You'd be looking at a laptop with likely a 512 mb graphics (maybe 1 gb if you stumble across a good deal), with probably 4 gb ram and a relatively decent cpu (these are the things that are most important gaming wise). madala in mind that laptops are madami expensive than desktops in terms of the specifications you will get.

At the moment, the NZ dollar is equal to 66 American cents. Your $500 equals $754 in my country. All of the laptops I just browsed are about the specifications I just mentioned. For a further point, about a taon nakaraan I spent $2,000 on my current laptop, which is pretty decent, but still wouldn't play some of the latest games out.

In short, you can't expect much in the way of gaming out of laptops, unless you fork out a lot, sorry to say. But, still, it sounds like a new one would still be better than the one he's got, anyway, so it's definitely worth getting him a new one.

Let me give you a good piece of advice. If you want to find him a laptop that works for gaming for about $500, you likely won't find anything.

However, for the sake of optimism, you will want to look for something that has a video card separate from the CPU, so look for something that doesn't have an "integrated graphics card." The susunod think you want to take into account is try to get at least 4 GB of ram, but try your hardest to get one with 6 GB or higher. If not, see if you can get one with RAM expansion slots so the computer can be upgraded.

I suggest looking here: link You can paghahanap hundreds of mga model of computers, specify price, performance, and et cetra.

However, don't try to hard. Your boyfriend uses a desktop madami often for gaming for a reason, and that reason is getting a laptop that can handle regular gaming is probably going to cost you at least a couple thousand dollars.

If you don't specifically want the gaming, and want a good laptop that will work for most purposes, then $500 is madami than enough to get a good workable laptop.

Good advice. Anything with integrated graphics is a waste of time. XD

I don't think they are when you're talking about entry level computers, as most $500 machines are.
