Please, just tell me.

People complain about (how bad music is today)

I'm 18, I like today's music, I like yesterday's music too.

Now, what I don't understand is people my age who say things like, "I was born in the wrong generation, 80's music is better" or something like "I'm 14 and I'm sorry for what my generation did to music". What exactly did my generation do that was "SO BAD"? Please explain to me.

I've seen people say "Back then artist wrote their own music". What the heck? They still do, and they always will. It's always been that way and always will.

Another one I've seen thrown around is "I'm X years old and I listen to Y". Your age is irelevant, now shut it.

Then, there's the "Music was so much better back then". Look, there's always been both good and bad music, there will always be both good and bad music, and it will always be like that, forever.
-But I hate what's on the radio, it's all Lady Gaga and Katy Perry mainstream pop crap". How about you stop listening to the radio and look for music somewhere else?

-Good music is just so hard to find these days.((No)) it's not, if I can find some, you can find some too.

So now tell me, what is it exactly that you don't like about todays music? Please, just tell me. What's so (bad)about it?

 Please, just tell me.

I'm not a tagahanga of today's music, because I prefer real music over auto tune. People are entitled to their own opinions. If they want to think that today's music is bad, let them think it.

I have no idea. I've generally never liked most pop, though. (funny thing that it's the only thing I can listen to while I fall asleep, though)
And that goes for ALL generations of pop music. I don't like it.
I honestly like alternative rock and swing...
But seriously, that stuff bugs the shit out of me, too.

First off, I'm just not a tagahanga of a lot of music made within the past decade or so aside from Green Day, Twenty One Pilots, etc. The music just doesn't appeal to me. It's not the music is "ruined" it's just that many people prefer music that's not made in the past few years.

And sadly, lots of singers don't write their own songs. A professional songwriter might write it and then it will be ibingiay to a singer to sing. Not all, but some. Some songs will give credit to the writer somewhere if it wasn't written sa pamamagitan ng the same person who sang it.

Good is subjective. I just don't like most of the songs that are playing on the radio. That's what YouTube and iTunes and Pandora and Spotify are for; to listen to the music you do like.

And the reason I personally don't like a lot of current music is for a couple reasons. Mostly because I can't tell the difference between singers anymore, too much auto tune. And the lyrics never make me think. Thats what I want in a song madami than anything, lyrics that will make me think or make me feel a certain way (happy, sad, pissed off, like drinking coffee). But there is some good music that I like. I'm a huge Twenty One Pilots tagahanga and I really pag-ibig the new Green araw album almost as much as the others.

The first thing I thought when I read the tanong before seeing the paglalarawan was "Oshiete, oshiete" from the opening to Tokyo Ghoul. Weeaboo levels are too high right now.

I think people don't like today's music because of the amount of autotune and how sexual the lyrics can be.

Many songs that are on the radio have sexual meanings (Perfect sa pamamagitan ng One Direction, Side to Side sa pamamagitan ng Ariana Grande, California Gurls sa pamamagitan ng Katy Perry), or they're about breakups.. And many songs have autotune, sometimes you can even hear the autotune in the song(especially Hit or Miss sa pamamagitan ng Jacob Sartorius).

There were a few older songs that are dirty.. But it didn't dominate the radio stations! Well, I don't think it did.

The people who don't like how sexual mainstream lyrics are haven't heard much of the radio. There are some great songs that aren't about sex that are popular and on the radio, such as Stressed Out sa pamamagitan ng Twenty One Pilots, and many of their other songs aren't about sex either. How about Panic at the Disco?

Many people don't know much about artists. They don't know that Taylor matulin doesn't always write songs about her dating life. They don't know that she wrote a song called Ronan which was about a child who died.

Many people don't know much about Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, either. Or Justin Bieber. Or other artists.

In my opinion, I like 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and the early 2000's. I never cared for today's music. never have. When I listen to music I always have the oldies on my radio. I'm not a Justin Beiber, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga or Beyoncè. It's not my type. I'm happy of what I listen to. In a way, I do feel I was born 30 years too early. Everyone has their own taste in music.

A lot of times there's less focus on true vocal quality.

This is why my paborito male singers include the likes of Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Elvis Presley and why my paborito female singers include Whitney Houston, Ailee, Mariah Carey, and Beyoncé. (I don't really follow operatic singers as of right now). These people didn't/ don't need auto tune or repetitive, unchallenging notes to sound amazing.

The voice impacts how much I like a song. A lot.

(But sometimes if a a song is super catchy or if I can really connect to the song, I grow to really like it, even if the singer doesn't have an outstanding voice (he/she still has to sing in perfect pitch, though). Songs I think are catchy usually come from the 50s or 60s. Songs I can really connect to are often post-2000 songs.)
