I would like your opinion on a police case..

uy guys. Currently in my country a case has gone viral from public outcry.

In May this taon a woman was driving under the influence of both alcohol and drugs. She was involved in a hit and run, killing a 15 taon old boy on a bicycle.

On social media, during the court trial, she posted a Halloween picture of her in an kahel prison jumpsuit with the caption "hide your children". Making a joke out of killing that boy.

Recently she received word from the judge that her sentence was 11 months tahanan detention and some hours community service. No prison sentence whatsoever.

He defense lawyer sinabi she was remorseful, but this is so wrong considering she mocked the killing on her Instagram with posts that have since been deleted. And she got off easy because the defense lawyer argued this woman had a tough upbringing. I find that absolutely disgusting. The child's family is devastated, the killer doesn't care and gets to chill at tahanan for a year, and my country have petitioned for the case to be appealed with 148,000 signatures thus far.

I just wanted to know your opinions on this since it's a big story here. Is this justice?

I don't particularly have the time right now to go through that artikulo myself, but I personally feel that if you are driving under the influence of alcohol LET ALONE drugs AND alcohol, that punishment is way to light alone.

I say at least in jail for AT LEAST a taon and mandatory rehab because you killed someone cause you were an idiot. I think currently that might be considered actual murder of a certain degree in America because you knew what risk you were doing when you started driving to the point that it is a form of intent. I dont think its involuntary manslaughter anymore. I think the minimum in California is at least 4 years in prison and I think that is for the better

With that being said, if the argument is if she should have a punishment raised for the post... ehh... Its a dickish ilipat but there are so many other underlying reasons that someone might put that out there psychologically other than a lack of remorse so I wouldnt necessarily go ahead and say that the post should raise it if that is just the standards of your country.

I say it would need further research into it personally. Especially if she had a tough upbringing since that kind of stuff can bring out a personality disorder or similar thing that might project the remorse in a rude manner that might look like one of which doesn't have remorse. In that case, I say mandatory therapy or similar should be required but not necessarily a longer session

So ibingiay that the 11 months is normal for your country and is seen as a standard for manslaughter like that, then I say at least add mental health requirements. If not, then yes, add madami time onto it.

If you are talking about how much time she should be serving, it should be way madami in jail.

I think my ideal punishment should be jail and if possible mental health help. If not jail, then at least two years house arrest with mandatory and heavily monitored mental health aid since those are the claims preventing her from a high charge.

As someone really really big on mental health theres a fine line between helping people and understanding mental health and making the stigma worse and enabling people

Manslaughter is murdering someone without intent and usually DUI manslaughters (general law of the US) get about equal time because with the influence of drugs/alcohol you were DEFINITELY not in your right mind.

In America she should only be ibingiay max of 1 taon in county jail time for DUI manslaughter or a fine of up to $1,000 (like $1,450 in New Zealand) or possibly both.

I would personally give it 18-24 months but the law is the law and the law says a max of 1 year. I don't know how it works in New Zealand but this is how it is in the US based on what I got from a 3 minuto google search. Just because she doesn't give a fuck that she killed a kid doesn't warrant extended time in the eyes of the law.

Signs of remorse do affect a sentence/length. At least here they do.

She sounds like a sociopath and probably needs to be psychologically evaluated if murder is a joke to her.
