INTRO-
She sings the songs that she learns from
Jen and all the cool girls
She doesn't know what they mean
But she doesn't really have a care in the world
PRE-
She turn red then she turned redder
What was so funny?
They whispered fierce words about her
She fakes a smile
Pictures the snickers with laughture
CHORUS1-
I said,
Why do you always go on?
I got a grip on reality finally
But why should I hold on?
This is too hard for me.
They said;
Didn't your mama ever tell ya?
I thought she'd taught ya well but
You're livin life in a fantasy
Why'd you treat your life like a dream?
VS1-
She skipped over to the 4th pew
in the church
She used to sit here
with her whole family
Well the got busy with their work
The women of the church laughed and the men starred when she told them her plan:
BRIDGE1-
"I wanna grow up, sing for the president. I'll marry superman"
PRE
CHORUS1
VS2-
And she arrives tahanan later that day
She tells ma
And she tells daddy
Everything.
Mama told her to keep her toes on the ground
Daddy begged; "You can't live life
With your nose in the clouds"
And then they're gone
Like every thing
She's ever known
And if she still
Has a heart
She uses it to believe
PRE
CHORUS2-
Well why you always goin?
I can't even hold on
How'm I s'posed to go on?
This is too hard for me
The air seemed to whisper:
Didn't your mama ever tell ya?
Thought she'd taught ya well but
You're living life like a fantasy
And you treat it as a dream
VS3-
She ran outside
She collapsed all the way down
She swears she'd heard Earth breathe
As she hugged the ground
BRIDGE2
I should've believed, but you controlled me.
CHORUS2
BRIDGE3
Well I wish I knew, not to listen to you.
VS4-
Night creeped around
Just to fill the sky
It knocked the sun down
Long after she found sleep
But soon she wakes and she screams:

She ran over to Jen's
Thought; I hope she understands,
She told her everything
Jen laughed like it was a joke
She didn't know what the little believer
Meant to provoke
Just wish some one would understand
Jen didn't believe
In Superman
But what did she know?
VS5 PT2-
She slammed the door
On the way out
She lied down in the damo to pout
Cried her tears
Of determination
Pushed away their doubt
And discrimination
PRE
BRIDGE4-
She turned the music up loud
And blastin from the stereo:
CHORUS1
PRE
CHORUS2
CLOSING-
I can't believe
That I believed
You pulled me away
From everything
From my values, interests, and beliefs
From what I loved and what I hated
From everything I hoped for and what I dreaded
You're madami than two faced, you're a monster
You're two headed.
But I'm letting go of you
Because I believe
Without you holding me down
I can do anything
