PeacefulCritic picked Characters with different personalities but not all of them are likable:
Sometimes the ones that aren't that likable are the most complex characters. And even if they aren't likable it is still fun watching the ones that aren't likable. And think about it we need unlikable characters so we can make the likable characters way more likable. To be honest I try to like every single character I come across but that's very hard to like some. And not only that but the characters who aren't that likable can be more interesting than the characters who are likable. Helga is a better character than Olga but Olga is a much better person and is way more likable. In my opinion most of the time when a character is unlikable it's most likely be a lot more complex of a character too.

I don't know if you're aware of this, but an unlikable character is someone who has no qualities about them at all to like or be interesting. You're confusing being a likable character with being a good person. Azula and Helga are likable characters and they're actually pretty cruel. But the fact that they're cruel because of their upbringing and complexity is what makes them likable. Azula is a villain but during the series finally and in "The Search" comics, I was rooting for her to redeem herself. You see how vulnerable she is and in the comic she actually shows that she cares (though doesn't show much of it) and even helps save the lives of her enemies. As for Helga, she gave up the one thing for Christmas she wanted to help Arnold reunite one of the borders with his daughter, who he had to send to America when she was a baby to save her life. A character being likable isn't determined by how good of a person they are but how interesting and compelling they are as a character.

You have no idea how much I hate lazy characterization where they are all the same.

^^ A complex character can be both Likable or unlikable. Not saying the unlikable characters don't have their moments when they do nice things. The fact that You don't even know what a complex character is . and the fact You keep getting it confused a sympathetic character/ Anti-hero is really starting to annoy me. Also a likable character is someone you want to spend time with, Someone who's a person that you think you'll are kind and sweet. And a unlikable character is the complete opposite.Sometimes a bland character is very likable but aren't that complex. And a complex character aren't always likable. That when redeems comes in to heal a character that hasn't been shown as innocent/likable. Complexity isn't in the meaning likable. And whoever told you that was highly wrong. In fact whoever told you that was probably was a troll too. I'm mean how could you fall for that.

You couldn't be further from the description of complex, likable, and unlikable characters. A complex character is someone who is very complicated when you get inside their mind. Azula is complex because you mostly see a side of her that's ruthless and cruel. But we see her sensitive side every once in a while. She betrayed Long Feng but she doesn't betray Zuko, even though she had been hunting him down to take him to prison and it would be more fitting to her evil character. She offers him a chance to join her, defeat the Avatar, conquer Ba Sing Se, and return home as a war hero with their father's love. You'd expect her to betray him but she keeps up her end of the deal with no strings attached or any tricks. She desires to be the heir to the throne and will stop at nothing to obtain it, but when she has knowledge of Zuko that could possibly gain her the right to the throne, she actually just warns him to be care and lets him know that she's actually looking out for him, which is strange for her. When she's on the beach she's so awkward around normal teenagers that whenever she tries to fit in she just get nervous and acts like "I will conquer you," because that's her safe place. She has a freaking hallucination of her mother saying she loved her and she always thought her mother hated her. Her only response to that was that she took a brush and threw it at the mirror, causing the hallucination to end. She ends up bring down on her knees crying. In "The Search" she is constantly going from sinister to insane to having humanity and goodness inside of her. She is completely complex and I've seen several complex characters, so don't give me any crap about not knowing what a complex character is.

As for likable and unlikable characters, I have two perfect examples that prove your wrong, Rhonda from Hey Arnold and Bella from Twilight. Rhonda is the most popular kid in her school and everyone at school wants to be her friend and likes her. However, she's spoiled, selfish, egotistical, materialistic, rude, cruel, judgmental, arrogant, looks down upon people, thinks she's freaking Jesus, and whenever she learns a lesson from the episode she instantly forgets it when things go back to normal. She's down right despicable, despite being liked by so many. Bella is also liked by many around her. She makes friends very easily and is very well liked in her movie but she's still unlikable. She's stupid, reckless, cares only for herself, is overly dependent, throws herself off cliffs so her boyfriend will notice her, and even uses boys to get Edward's attention. So what you have to say about likable and unlikable characters isn't true in the slightest.

Also, Olga isn't likable. Not only because she has little to no flaws and is WAY too sweet, but also being she's an attention hog. In the first episode she appears in, Olga Comes Home, at the ending she CLEARLY sees that Helga feels neglected when Olga is around because everyone ignores her. Olga states she gets sick of having to always be perfect and perform for her parents, but if that were true she wouldn't do it in every single episode she's in and have Helga be ignored, she'd try to make sure Helga wasn't ignored. Even when it looks like Helga has gone missing she makes it all about her. When she makes fliers she says "Award winning Olga Pataki's baby sister missing" instead of something like "Missing child named Helga Pataki"! She makes it all about her! Along with the fact that she seems oblivious to her families obvious dysfunctional problems! She's either really stupid and ignorant or is just being in denial, which is actually worse.

A character isn't likable because of how people in the show, book, or movie like them, it's based on how much the view likes them because they're compelling and interesting characters. Also, don't act so high and mighty with me.

^You're welcome. This was a stupid thing to fight over.I thought hard about it. And this debate was about an opinion. People have different meaning to what their think is a likable, complex, sympathetic and unlikable character. Even through I still disagree on what you said. I don't think I want to start another debate like this since we almost got into a fight.
