Can Sandman speak?

He can speak, but he choses not to. He doesn't want to wake the children.

I believe he can. In his introduction video "Meet Sandman" the narrator sinabi "Now Sandy doesn't like to talk perhaps because he doesn't want to wake anyone up..." there's something in the choice of words there. It might've been "...Sandy doesn't talk.." but no. I believe they did this purposely but I'm not sure.

The scene where Sandman gets angry and shakes an elf to get attention from the other guardians has me wondering. I mean, Sandy certainly isn't against noise when he needs it. You never see him telling the other guardians to be quiet and he often looks like he enjoys the loud jumps of joy, yells, and arguments between his comrades. I mean, for crying out loud (haha), Sandman pretty much made the most epic ending to the movie with loud fireworks.

Also, in many scenes Sandy shows strong emotion: at the Pole when he gets angry and blows sand out of his ears, in North’s sleigh when he’s having fun and puts his hands in the air, and when he gets hit in the back sa pamamagitan ng Pitch, yet he emits no amount of noise (besides his trademark background music). You’d think that sa pamamagitan ng getting a surprise hit in the back, he would at least yell out a little, which makes me think his vocal cords don’t work. I think he’s mute.

The trailer sinabi “he doesn’t want to wake anyone up” and Sandy agreed because he just didn’t want to have to explain his muteness to a crowed of (presuming) children with dream sand larawan that would just confuse everyone. Therefore, Sandman agreed to the trailer’s belief that he doesn’t want to wake children up and this is probably partly true. Sandy would probably agree that he doesn’t like waking up children, and he certainly can’t do that with his voice if he’s mute.

Curse brought to him, unknown. Or that it is to
Repesent for childern who can't speak themselves.
