Selena Quintanilla and Chris Perez\'s love story might not make it to TV.

On Friday, the late singer\'s father, Abraham Quintanilla Jr., filed a lawsuit in a Texas court against Perez and Endemol to stop the production of the TV series based on their relationship, which they announced just two weeks ago. 

The documents state that in 1995, after Selena\'s death, Perez and others entered a legal agreement about the late singer\'s estate. According to the documents, Quintanilla Jr. is the only person with ownership and all proprietary rights in the name, voice, signature, photograph, and likeness of Selena. 

When Perez accepted the terms of the Estate Agreement, it stated he "agreed to receive, among other things, twenty-five percent (25%) of the net profits derived from the exploitation of the Entertainment Properties," according to the documents filed. 

"The petition states Mr. Perez violated the Entertainment Properties agreement. He doesn\'t have the rights to publish a book or produce a television series based in any part on Selena," says Quintanilla estate attorney Simran A. Singh to

. "Among other things, we are seeking a judicial declaration that the defendants have no right to exploit the series and stop production."

a book where he opened up about their friendship, once-forbidden relationship and a look into their marriage. 

Perez married the star in 1992 and she was tragically killed by her fan club president in 1995. She was 23.
