general robotnick created shadow at the ark and had maria as a friend. one time they had something coming. they were being chased and they shot maria.
maria: shadow promise me you'll protect the world. we've always dream to go down there but you'll have to go there without me.
shadow: no wait!
maria: goodbye shadow the hedgehog.
shadow was launched to the earth and maria died.
