The Trailer starts off with a man obviously behind bars, a police officer saying to him "todays the big araw huh?" It reminded me of the trailer from Silent burol Homecoming when Alex Shepherd wakes up in the truck after a bad dream. So to put it simply, it reminded me of a game that flopped to say the least, not the best start.
The bus is taking him somewhere that we're not supposed to know, its dark, raining and the people on the bus look creepy enough. All typical to Silent Hills usual atmosphere so far.
The police officer is looking at him intensly, as if he's caused trouble in the prison before (why would he be there in the first place?) nothing about her seems unusual for a police officer so no notice is really taken. What I'm wondering however is if this cop is supposed to be representing the original one from the first game which makes me think of the good old times when silent burol wasn't just about the scare but about the atmosphere, the games wern't supposed to scare us to the point of calling our significant others crying, it was supposed to make us feel completaly alone but also wanting to wander further in to see what other weird stuff you might find, then at the end of those games you'd call your significant other crying and making them come to your house with Ben and Jerrys ice cream. So that was a good touch, if it was one.
Cybil Bennet from Silent burol 1 Is a major character in the game however can Anne Cunningham, the new female police officer in Silent burol Downpour fill Cybils shoes?
Suddenly you notice that the bus driver isn't watching the road, lucky for him he just manages to turn his head to see that theres a massave hole in the road and swerves. Of course this bus is driving along a mountain and the hole is perfectaly positioned so that the bus manages to swerve down the mountain itself, this of course it bad. Screaming ensues and then a sudden shot of darkness. I begin to wonder who will have survived this crash, obviously the main character who has just been released from prison, but I'm also guessing that the police officer will survive the crash as well (Oh and if she does and we have to save her like the woman in Silent burol Homecoming then I wont like this game because that was completaly stupid)
You wake up alone it seems, with the wrecked bus in front of you. I have no idea what he ends up doing after that as it doesn't follow his path. The susunod thing you see though is a building and a man talking in the distance, it's a friendly mailman from Silent Hill!
And then I saw it-The roads were blocked off like in the old games and I became increasingly madami interested in the game. Its foggy, raining AND the roads were blocked off the old fashioned way? Now your talking!
There were several flashing parts to the trailer that managed to creep me out rather than scare me and I began the pag-ibig the trailer.
The cities in ruins and it looks as though there are regular troubled people in the game that reminded me of the fat teenager who I found in the old game vomiting into a toilet bowl scared out of his mind!
Then I saw who I assumed I'd see, the police officer Anne Cunningham, alive and well with a gun to you. She slips while you say that your not going back to prison, so I guess he wasn't to be released after all!
madami flashes of things crawling on the walls and ceilings, nuns, churches and a thing that looks like voldo scratching the wall, they all looked creepy.
But after all the positive things I have to say about this game I do have my doubts, I'm getting way too much of a Silent burol Homecoming feel to it, of course i'm going to buy it, and if its nothing like that then i'll say I was completaly wrong, no problem, but when buying this game I wont be thinking it to be much like the good old days.
