Not Your Typical Country girl Chapter Thirty Four
Harmony's POV
I could believe it was already morning. I turned over on the sopa and felt the sun blinding my eyes. I opened them and it was just Clay's lamp.
"Sorry, I was just pagbaba my Bible before the araw started," Clay said.
"So it's not time to get up," I asked.
"No," he sinabi laughing.
"Okay," I sinabi and turned back over to go sleep.
It seemed like I got to sleep and it was time to wake up.
"Harmony, time to get up," Clay said.
"Okay," I groaned, "why were you up to early?"
"The power cam on so I decided to do my God and I time," he stated.
"Uh why? It was so early," I said.
"It is the only time I can concentrate and it's great way to start the day," he said, "whatever I learn I can apply it that day!"
"Oh, okay," I said, "sleep is way madami important!"
"Not to me," he stated.
"Obviously," I said.
"You better go get ready before breakfast. It is going to be a busy day," he said.
"Alright," I grumbled.
I could have slept on that sopa all araw long. I walked across the hall to my room and I could hear the paliguan going. So, I quietly crept into my room and grabbed what I needed. I shut Clay's door and I had no motivation for working today. My knee was killing me for some reason. I wondered if it was suppose to storm again. I really hope that it will then my knee would not be hurting from all the work I have been doing on it.
I threw a hat on as I made my way to the kitchen. I pagtunaw tusino cooking and my stomach started growling. I could not wait to devour some food. I probably ate just as much as my brothers at some point. I don't know how Abigail and Bryce feed the boys. They eat all the time.
"Good morning," Abigail sinabi brightly as she looked at me.
"It's not so good," I mumbled, "morning."
"What's wrong," she asked.
"Is there suppose to be another storm coming," I asked.
"I believe so. Is your knee hurting you," she asked as she came over to me.
"Yeah a little bit," I sinabi trying not to be a wimp.
"Okay, I will get you some medicine after breakfast," she said.
"Can I just have it now," I asked.
"You can't take it on an empty stomach," she said.
"I don't care. I just want it now," I sinabi pleading.
"Okay. Take this plate of tusino to the mesa and I will get it for you," Abigail said.
"Okay, thanks," I said.
Once I take this medicine, I will be able to do anything I want. My knee won't hurt at all once this stuff is in my system.
Breakfast was over, I had taken my medicine, and I headed to the barn. Since Sam was here, I didn't have to clean the kitchen. She was sweet but it was weird for her to get a paliguan before the araw started. I mean you get filthy and smelly in the kamalig and working with horses.
I stepped off the front porch and I sunk in mud. It had rained all last night but it was muddy. Thankfully, the sun was shining so hopefully the mud will dry up soon. I did not like walking through this mud while my knee was hurting.
I had put Midnight Moon in the kamalig yesterday when it had been storming really bad. I opened the door to he kamalig and he was making a bunch of racket. I guess he hated being locked up so long.
"Hey there boy," I sinabi as I petted him, "are you ready to get to work?"
I knew he couldn't answer back. But ever since the accident he has been staying close to my side when I am outside. I don't mind it at all. I pag-ibig the fact that my horse will follow me anywhere I go. I could walk to town and he would follow me. I liked the fact that he would do that.
I let Midnight Moon out of his stall and went to get the wheelbarrow outside.
"You know horses don't know normally do that," Tucker sinabi as he appeared from nowhere.
"Well hey," I sinabi laughing, "What are you talking about?"
"He follows you wherever you go. Only a horse you raise from the time he was born will do that," he stated.
"Oh," I sinabi laughing, "it's pretty cool, I guess."
"I wish I could get my horse to do that. He will not follow me, even if it was to save his life," Tucker sinabi laughing.
"Well, that is a bummer," I said.
"Yeah but I'll see ya later. I better get to work," he stated.
"Alright," I said.
I had been at on my knee for while. I wanted a break. I was tired and it was extra hot in the kamalig today. Cleaning stalls on a hot summers araw was smelly but it beats doing nothing all day. I got onto Midnight Moons back and laid down. I pulled my hat over my eye and closed em'. This was going to be a nice nap. But it didn't last long because Midnight Moon started walking somewhere.
"You are gonna get me in trouble," I sinabi to my horse.
He just neighed loudly.
"You have been caught," Bryce's voice sinabi loudly.
I sat up and pulled my hat over my eyes.
"I promise you I just sat down to take a break and then Midnight Moon here decided he wanted to go somewhere," I sinabi I lightly hit him.
As Bryce and I talked Midnight Moon didn't stop.
"It's alright. How is that knee feeling," he asked worried.
"It's fine now," I sinabi yawning.
I turned around on Midnight Moon where I was facing Bryce. The horse kept walking but Bryce followed us.
"Where is this horse taking you," he asked laughing.
"I don't know," I sinabi as the horse stopped.
I turned around and Midnight Moon was standing at the back steps to the house.
"Thanks boy," I sinabi as I hopped off, "he wants an mansanas and I would like some sweet tea!"
"Alight, don't slack off too much today," he sinabi laughin'.
"Don't'cha worry, we will," I sinabi laughing.
Bryce started laughing as he walked away. He knew I was hard worker; I just liked to joke that I was lazy.
I took my shoes off before entering the house. They were muddy and had horse crap on them. I knew Abigail would not be a happy camper if I had walked throughout the house in em'.
"I see you got a ride up here," Sam sinabi as I entered the house.
"Yeah, I hadn't planned on coming up here, but Midnight Moon had other plans," I said.
"Do you want some tea," Abigail asked.
"Please, that kamalig is hot," I stated.
"So that horse bought you here sa pamamagitan ng himself," Sam asked.
"Sure did," I said.
"Wow, I cannot believe that," she sinabi as she turned to Abigail.
"I told you Sam; Harmony has a way with horses. Especially that one out there," she said.
"Can I have an apple," I asked.
"Is it for you or the horse," she asked.
"Umm, does it matter," I asked jokingly.
"It's for the horse," Sam sinabi laughing.
"He bought me up here," I stated.
"I guess he can," Abigail sinabi smiling, "but only one!"
"Yes em'," I said.
Sam looked at me weirdly when I sinabi that. I didn't know what it was about so, I grabbed my sweet tsaa and an apple.
"Thank you," I sinabi as I headed out the door.
"Here ya go boy," I sinabi as I gave him the apple.
I took a swig of my tsaa and got back on the horse.
"Okay back to work," I told him.
I laid down put my hat over my eyes again. I loved laying down on my horse. It was so comfortable. I could probably just fall asleep like that.
