Well it makes sence, the yin and yang thing. Mario=red. Sonic=blue. Mario=high jump, low(er) speed. Sonic=high speed, low(er) jump. Quite simple logic

I don't care, Mario and Sonic games are tied in my third paborito Classic Games. So I hope this sheds some light, I know a lot of people that like both pretty equally and those that like the other a lot more. I get along fine with them, so there, Proof that both can be equal.
