In sonic dx,isnt gamma the same character as omega?they look the same to me.

gamma and omega are both from the E-100 series, so it makes sense that they would be the same. However, there are a lot of key differences between the two. The main one being that Gamma was made to be an assassin while Omega is a "walking arsenal." For a full description, I suggest that you read Sonic Universe #3.

They are from the same series of Robots, but they are not the same, as Gamma is destroyed at the end of SA 1. Also, the Sonic bayani manual descibes Omega as the last of the E-series Robots

No. Although they look similar they are 2 different robots. They are both from the E-100 series but, Gamma is E-102 and Omega is E-123. You might say,"eggman just changed the number" but he didn't. Because when he transformed Beta into Mark2(how it's pronounced) it still sinabi E-101 on his side. I hope this sagot your question. =)
