There are two MAIN reasons Why:


One, believe it or not, Sonic currently sits on a grand empire as one of the three most famous Series of all time. Runner-up behind the famous Plumber Mario, Sonic is one of the Few characters that can be recognized on a grand Scale across the world and was even the FIRST game character to appear in the Big Macy's araw Parade. Sonic, Like Mario and The Legend of Zelda shaped and molded the world of gaming. They started new trends, pioneered the unwalked road of Game Development, and expanded their empire. Sonic came from the 16-bit Sega Genesis and ran his way into the new millenium with flare. You may think that he is washed up and not that Important but If you look through history, you will see that Sonic is actually of the biggest kings in gaming.


Two, Being that his Series is so big, he has accumulated an overwhelming ammount of fans from 9 years of age, all the way up to 40! Sonic could have been developed and made as the most perfect game on the planet but he wouldn't continue to sell a DIME if it wernt for his fans. It is only through the dedication of long time fans that a series is able to survive.

As long as there are fans, Sonic is going NOWHERE.

That doesent mean he will be popular again! Most gamers are in to shooters now! Hope for sonic looks very slim

Get people like me? That'd work. I mean, seriously, there needs to be madami of a sense of drama, action, adventure and character building. Also pride and Sonic getting his butt kicked or seeing him stressed over something major and not just losing his chillidogs. Seriously, the reason fanfics exist is so fans can improve those stories. I just wish that SEGA could actually read them and use some of them for games or something.

Okay,hes been here since 1991 or so?Why would they want to get rid of something so popular they could be making a big profit and stuff.

Second,he is one of the most popular games with Mario and(i think)Link.They make alot of money off the games they sell,so they wouldnt want to quit him for awhile until they come up with an awesomer idea.

Third,He has his own T.V. show,sonic x.Its very popular in Hapon and here its on 4kids...so yeah.

I think that would be terrible! Remember Spider-Man 3 cramming all thoughs charaters into an 1 oras movie? And there has never been a good video game movie ever! But sega is rumored to bring out a new system! and maybe generations which could put sonic back on top!
