Is Richard Bachman a pseudonym, or was he real and Mr.King finished the manuscripts?

It is a pseudonym King used when he published Rage, The Long Walk , Roadwork , The Running Man and Thinner. The reason he did this is that at the time he wrote the "Rage" and "The Long Walk" he wasn't well known and had trouble publishing them. After he had become better known in the late 70's he decided to ilathala them, but his publisher suggested he use another name to prevent "overpublishing".
