it really annoys me that he gets so little attention in this spot. even cas gets more than him and he's been on the show for not even 2 seasons :(

i feel like people are forgetting about the great sam we had in season 1-3 before he started the demon-blood addiction. 'cause right after that, people seemed to hate on him 'cause he did one mistake to be with ruby. i do see why people doesn't like him or like him less than dean, but hey. sam is amazing. he was amazing and he will always be amazing! those puppy-eyes. how can you resist them?♥

i'm personally a dean-girl, but i feel so sorry for sammy 'cause i adore him and i always have :(

if he does, it's because the so-called 'Sam girls' don't talk about him much (anymore). I have A LOT of issues with Sam .. which i'm sure is no secret .. but he's part of the show so I still consider him important. SPN wouldn't be SPN without him, I know that. You know that. The whole spot should know that.

I don't feel any sympathy for him :P I figure the Sam girls should stick up for their boy, and if they don't, so not my problem. ;D

I use to call him Sammy. Then I watched season 3. :p
Now he's just...Sam. But, season 5, I think he'll come around. I just think that Dean is much more awesomer (that is so a word!) then Sam. I don't blame him, he is a college boy after all.

Well I think this spot has always been largely populated by Dean fans, but there are some very passionate Sam fans out there and he's an integral part of the show. So although he doesn't get as much "love" as Dean, I don't think he's forgotten. In fact, his actions in S4 inspired more discussions about him than ever before. Which makes him a great character. Maybe not as likeable to some, but nonetheless a fascinating character. And I think the Sam fans look out for their boy just fine. Not a one of them is afraid to stand up for him on this spot- which is as it should be. Like I said, he may not be the "favourite" but I don't think he's ignored.

That said, I do think it's weird that Castiel seems to be more popular than Sam. Personally, I've never seen his appeal and it wasn't until this season that I found him at all interesting. And now, he's pretty much just good for a laugh. I don't see near the depth of character in him that I do in Sam. IMO he's kind of a Gary Stu. He's there to teleport the brothers out of harm's way. They are developing his character but I confess I still don't care that much about him. If he were written off the show, it would go on. If Sam was written off the show, it would be one big fat FAIL. No offense meant to Casfans- he has some great qualities- he just doesn't do anything for me.

I really think that Sam gets forgotten or just pushed aside alot. While there are some huge Sam fans on the spot as fanfly said, he's lost some of them since season 4 and the demon blood debacle. It frustrates me to no end. Yes Sam has made bad decisions but that's only human. I think Sam is not appreciated as much as Dean since Jensen Ackles started off with stronger acting then Jared, but Jared has progressed steadily throughout the series. I think that Sam deserves more credit than he gets because the show is about the dynamic between the both brothers, not just Dean. And it does irritate that Cas has more fans than Sam when as Kristine said Sam was there from the beginning. I'm just ranting now so I'm gonna stop, but really Sam should be more appreciated than he is.

I think fanfly said it all. There are more Deangirls on this spot, and Supernatural fandom in general, so I think it's natural that he would get more attention than Sam, but there are some very passionate Samgirls out there who support him. After season 4 his likability might have gone down, but he's still a fascinating character and an integral part of the show. I'm a Deangirl, but even though he has made some mistakes (huge ones), I still love Sammy and the show wouldn't be the same without him.

I also think it's weird that Cas has more fans than Sam. Cas doesn't have the character depth that Sam does. I appreciate him for what he is, and I would like to see them develop his character a little more, but he can never be equal to Sam in my opinion.

Dean gets the good lines and he hasn't made this big mistake like Sam has, even though he had good intentions. That's why its easier to love Dean and that's why there are more Dean girls in this spot and everywhere else. After s4 Sam has much less fans, but the ones that were since the beginning, ans still are, are much more devoted than ever. Yes, Sam is left in the background for most of the time, but he's never truly forgotten, because Sam girls, including me, will never let you guys forget him. ;)

Sam has just as big part of SPN, as Dean. Without either of them, the show wouldn't be nearly as good, as it is now.

As of Castiel, I know that there are many truly devoted Cas girls (Toti a.k.a. Doc, Donna, Ana etc.), but there aren't so many of them for me to get too irritated.

I mean, everybody I know that watches SPN, they always say the same exact thing... That they like Dean but Sammy, mheee... not so much.

Well, I have to say that he may not be as popular as Dean is, in the Fanpop-universe but also in our everyday life, BUT for us, this small group of girls, the so-called Sam girls, is our "life"..
He's our favorite character, he's the one we most look forward to seeing again in new episodes, and he's the one that, despite the mistakes he's made in the past, will always be forgiven by us..

Now, as far as the spot is concerned, I may not be around for that long as some other really great and respected users are, but yeah I think he's a bit neglected not only by Sam girls, but from all of us...

So, do i think that he's a bit forgotten in the spot?

No, they wouldn't.
Of course it depends really. I believe some fans would be honest about this and be upset with him too. BUT the majority would just forgive Dean, which they don't do with Sam.

And let's face it:
Dean wouldn't be as awesome as he is if it wasn't for Sammy. And the same goes to Sam.

Dean has always had most fangirls but Sam also have a lot of them and yeah Cas too. But Cas dont have more then Sam. Which im pretty happy about, because if he had that would be killing me x) And not many of the Sam girls talk so much about Sam as the Cas and Dean girls talk about their boys.. Hehe

And Sam lost a lot of fans because of drinking the demon blood and all and he have made really bad decisions, soo i guess thats why people have started to be a bit sceptic about him.

I think that Sammy isn't forgotten in this spot but despite the fact that he has a lot of fans,they don't support him in picks or talk openly about him.There aren't more Castiel fans than Samgirls and that's an indisputable fact (just check out how many fans Cas has on his spot and how many Sam does)!!The thing is that Cas fans express their opinion more than Samgirls do and that's why it seems that we're so many!

And I disagree that Sammy doesn't get the same attention as Dean does.There are many picks about Sam too,icons,videos but apparently you guys don't give him the attention that he deserves.I remember very clearly Wendy aka 67impala advocating Sammy in season 4 when everyone was up against him and she did a hell of a job!!!And now,I don't see many fans supporting him.And Fanpop is a site that works according to fans' contributions, so if you think that Sammy is forgotten in this spot,then it's entirely your fault!

@ Cas_Cat_2 ;; Jensen Ackles is prettier (hotter .. whatever word you wanna use) than Jared -- that's why his spot has more fans. It's not about SPN or even how good they can act, it's about who's hot and what movies people have seen -- I know Jensen's spot has gotten A LOT more fans now that he's (publicly) engaged to Danneel (OTH/Rachel fans have converted to Jensen fans ;)), and I also know that after MBV, there was an increase too. (i'm sure the same happened with FT13th with Jared) Plus more Dean fans = more Jensen fans by default.

It's really all just a numbers game =P

Also if Dean acted like Sam has acted, I wouldn't forgive him, i'd have just as many issues with him as I currently have with Sam. :) FACT. (just for the record ;P)

alright, I have read all of these comments, and I agree with a lot of people and disagree with a few of yours as well. I am a Sammy-girl. I agree that Dean has a more likable character. BUT I have done research on the Joseph Campbell's "hero's journey" which is some of what Kripke based his story on. In fact I used Supernatural and Campbell for a comparison paper in college. and if you look at all of those things, then making mistakes is part of the hero's journey, in fact the temptation then redemption of the hero is an important part, so I LOVED the story line in season 4 with the Sam's downward spiral. but that is not the question asked in this pick, so yes I agree that Sam is underrepresented, but that's part of us Sam-Girls fault.

BTW - I LOVE that the uberfan they chose to depict in the show is a Samgirl.
