Mom and Dad began to scream. My older brother, Darren, put his arm around me protectivly as a plate flew. Back then, I was blonde. My clothes were pink. Thats what my parents always fought about. Me. "She needs to be able to choose her own style!" Mom argued. Dad crossed his arms. "She needs to be guided!"
"Oh, and Juvi is guidence?" mom asked, glitsening tears in the corners of her eyes. Darren's dark brown eyes flashed with an emotion I had never seen on my calm, cool and quiet brother. Anger. There was something deeper to the fight, I knew, but didnt say anything. "I want I divorce, Duncan Gray!" MY mother finally screamed. She tossed her black hair over her shoulder, as my father, who also had black hair, ran a hand through his. "I do too," he agreed. Darren looked at me and sinabi "This is bad, Maria." Duh, part of me said.
Of course, I'm 14 now, and entering my first araw in high school. I havent seen my brother Darren or my father in many, many years. Almost seven years. "I want to see my brother." I told my mom as I walked down the stairs in jeans, a Nickleback t-shirt, and a turqouise backpack swung over my shoulder. Mom dropped the plate, and the CRASH!! reminded me of that night. I winced at the sound. "Dont you know what that means?" My mother demanded. "I'll have to call your father, arrange a date, and either one of us would have to go across the country!"
"Across the country?" I questioned. I live in a small town in Indianna, and never got to see many places. "California. Or Duncan and Darren come here," Mom explained. My gray eyes lit with excitement. "California?" My mom nodded, then looked to my mostly-unkept mop of now-brown hair. "Arent you going to brush it?" She asked with a smile. I shook out my hair, the way a dog would after a swim. "All done." My hair was always unruly, and I couldnt do anything about it. Then I heard the roar of the bus down the street.
On the bus, alot of people waved hello. Ok, I was popular, I had a boyfreind, everything. But I know who my real freinds are. Hanna and Danni. I spotted Hanna's mop of red curls, and Danni's bleach-blonde waves. "Hey!" I called, waving. Danni's kulay-rosas fingernails waved back. It was amazing how great freinds they were, seeing as how they were so different. Danni had a sporty name, but her stye was pink, fluffy, and girly. Hanna has the beauty girl name,but is a total tomboy. I am the middle ground, both girly and tomboy-ish.
"So, hows Matt?" Danni asked, elbowing me inthe ribs teasingly. I blushed a little. Matt was my boyfreind, with dark hair and hazel eyes. I elbowed her back. "Shut up." I sinabi with a smile. I turned to look at the parking lot, to see any familiar cars, and I nearly jumped out of my skin. I saw a spider. The sportscar, Spider. It was my fathers Spider.
