"Please don't make me go!" Genevieve begged, her tial eyes wide with desperation. Her mother stood at the kusina sink, shaking her head. "Sorry honey. That's not an option," she responded, tucking a piece of brown hair behind her ear. Genevieve groaned dramatically, slumping against her chair. Her younger brother Sammy sat at the other end, picking at his fingers. "That's sick," Genevieve sinabi with disgust. Sammy rolled his eyes. "Thanks for sharing," he muttered, narrowing his black eyes at his raw fingers. Genevieve stood up, eye lit with fury. "I'm not going," she sinabi with gritted teeth, balling her hands into fists. Her mother closed her eyes and set down a wet dish on the drying rack. "Duncan," her mother said, keeping her voice calm. "Control your daughter. Please." Genevieve's father was splayed out on the sopa in the living room, sipping his morning coke. Genevieve turned her frustrated and angry gaze to the black painted living room with the black and deep scarlet sofa and chairs. There were sculpted skulls as decorations on the black coffee mesa and shelves. "Genevieve," Duncan said, patting the spot susunod to him. Genevieve stalked over, plunking down, arm crossed. "I ain't going," she repeated, not willing to change her mind. Duncan nodded his head, sipping his soda again. "Yeah, you made that clear," he sinabi with a smile then sinabi in a low tone, "Here's the thing about school. You pretty much have two choices. Act like a priss, suck up to the teachers and get straight As. Or... Be a rebel. Sure, the man sinabi you kids have to go to school but he never sinabi anything about doing your best. Get what I'm saying?" Genevieve smiled and hugged her father without warning. "Yeah I get it. Thanks dad." Her father hugged her back then stood up. "Alright, you and Sanmy get dressed and hit the road." Genevieve nodded and walked over to her brother. She grabbed his wrist and pulled him upstairs. "What the hell?" Sammy complained as she shoved him into his room. "Get dressed," she commanded. "Car leaves in 30 minutos and I'm leaving with or without you. Kapeesh?" Sammy nodded. "Kaposh," he responded. Genevieve nodded her head with satisfaction and hurried off to her room. She slipped off her black silk PJ's and slipped into a black t-skirt with a low V cut and a tial bituin in the middle. She put on fishnet rights and a black miniskirt along with a pair of combat boots. She thought about putting her long brown hair into a ponytail, but decided against it. She applied some eyeliner and blue lipstick and walked towards the garahe where she would wait for Sammy. Well, maybe she would wait.
"Daniel!"
Daniel groaned, realizing he'd have to start another araw pretending to be someone else. He stood up, running his fingers through his ruffled light brown hair. He stood up, glancing at his alarm clock and running towards his large closet, putting on a fancy light blue dress sando with black dress pants. He put in a pair if clean white socks and combed his hair down, knowing his mother would have a seizure if she saw his hair like this. "Daniel! I'm not getting any younger!" his mother screamed angrily. Daniel sighed and walked down the marble flight of stairs, trying to get accustomed to the white and brightly lit house instead if his dimmed room. "Hello Mother," Daniel greeted his mother. His mother was seated at the head of an Italian glass dining table, sipping her morning coffee daintily. "Thank goodness," she said, opening her black eyes. "I was getting exhausted. And my throat was starting to hurt. Be quicker susunod time." Daniel stifled an angry retort, knowing he'd have to act like the perfect son until the end of the school year. "Yes mother," he said, taking a upuan at the other end. "Today's the first araw of school so I want you to take 4-6 servings of fruit," his mother said, looking at the window instead of at her son. Daniel blinked then nodded his head. "Yes mother," he murmured. Daniel followed her gaze, not fully understanding what could be so interesting that she couldn't even look at her own son. His mother let out a deep breath and stood up suddenly. "I think I should drive you to school today," she declared. Daniel blinked. "But mom. I'm a senior. No one' mom dri-" His mother whipped around and faced him, eyes cold and stony. "I sinabi I wanted to drive you to school today!" she snapped. "Now get in the car!" Daniel stood up at once and grabbed his backpack and put on a pair of black dress shoes, hurrying towards the BMW. Daniel threw his back pack in the trunk and closed it shut, then leapt into the passengers upuan and closed the door. He closed his eyes and looked out the window the whole car ride, wondering the same thing over and over. Why couldn't his mother be normal?
