Also, Finn (Cory Monteith) in Glee. I know it wasn't planned because of Cory's surprising and untimely death, but Glee went downhill quickly afterwards. I still havent finished season 5 or watched the final season.
EDIT: And Neal from Once Upon a Time. I think i went half a season after he died before I gave up.
Honestly though, the one show that really made me ditch after a character exit was Kai from TVD last season. Obviously not a major character (main villain of the season) but, like with Lincoln, the last straw. I used to be the type to stick with a show through anything, but TVD has gotten so bad and I was just sick of all the bs. It has actually been freeing since now I'm able to quit other shows easier...like The 100! And if TO kills off Lucien this season...(can you tell I tend to get more attached to villains and/or side/recurring characters?)
As for the rest:
I have always gone back and forth between whether I liked Laurel or not. I really did like her in the end though (and damn she's freaking shippable...well, with everyone except Oliver). Sucks she was killed off, but I didn't love her enough to quit the show over her (Sara's death upset me more when it happened)
I don't believe for a second Jon Snow is really gone (not that I really care that much about him)
Ned...meh. His death set the tone for the show. Let fans know they aren't afraid to kill main characters (though I still don't buy Jon's death). They just better not touch Arya (don't think I'd quit over her death but still)
Angel was meh, but his show was a bit better than BTVS imo (though I've always LOVED both shows). Plus, from ATS we got my first ship ever: CANGEL!!!
I HATED Elena!!!!! Not watching the show anymore because of Kai and most of the shit I keep hearing about TVD makes me so glad I quit watching...but I see Elena not being in season 7 as the ONLY good thing about the season! Now Katherine I miss terribly!
If only they had killed Damon off with Elena....
I don't watch the rest of the shows.
Marissa's death was devastating for me because Ryan & Marissa were my favorite. But devastating was also watching OC after that. I lost interest eventually.
Charlie was one of my faves. I cried so much when he died, but LOST always had a good story, it was impossible to stop it.
I agree with @Rayefire on Glee & OUAT.
LOL seems I'm the opposite in that a character death will bring me back to a show...
