The episode opens with Nicole coming tahanan from a hard day's work and falling asleep on the sopa susunod to her husband, who is busy watching television. Gumball comes tahanan shortly after and tries to share stories about his araw at school to his parents, but neither of them pay attention. Feeling neglected, Gumball storms off to his room and accidentally wakes up his mother in the process. Nicole apologizes to Gumball for not paying him much attention, and promises that she will spend madami time with him the susunod day.

It's pasko Eve, and all the citizens of Elmore are in a festive mood. Many characters wish the viewers a merry Christmas, including the Wattersons, who are driving tahanan in their car. Their high spirits are abruptly brought down, however, when they crash into someone. This "someone" turns out to be a filthy bum that looks strikingly similar to Santa Claus, at least in Richard's opinion.
They rush the stranger to the hospital, with Richard voicing his worry about being on the naughty listahan this year. He decides to make up for it with several last minuto good deeds, running around the hospital...
