The cub came upon it suddenly. It was his own fault. He had been careless. He had left the cave and run down to the stream to drink. It might have been that he took no notice because he was heavy with sleep. (He had been out all night on the meat-trail, and had but just then awakened.) And his carelessness might have been due to the familiarity of the trail to the pool. He had travelled it often, and nothing had ever happened on it.

He went down past the blasted pine, crossed the open space, and trotted in amongst the trees. Then, at the same instant, he saw and smelt. Before...

Malik

Malik, an Arctic subspecies of the gray wolf, was born May 8, 2000 and is a brother to Shadow. Malik is very curious lobo that shows little intimidation with strangers. He's described as easy-going sa pamamagitan ng the lobo care staff and can be easily distracted sa pamamagitan ng just about anything. Malik was placed in the Retired Pack in November 2009.

Transformation into mga lobo is a favourite subject of Irish legend, and many a wild tale is told sa pamamagitan ng the peasants round the turf apoy in the winter nights of strange adventures with wolves. Stories that had come down to them from their forefathers in the old times long ago; for there are no mga lobo existing now in Ireland.

A young farmer, named Connor, once missed two fine cows from his herd, and no tale or tidings could be heard of them anywhere. So he thought he would set out on a paghahanap throughout the country; and he took a mataba blackthorn stick in his hand, and went his way. All araw he travelled...

Grizzer

Grizzer, a Great Plains subspecies of the gray wolf, was born on May 5, 2004. He is a littermate to Maya and has matured into a strong and big (120+ lb)... adult male. He was removed from the Exhibit Pack in March 2011 after the tragic loss of his littermate, Maya. It was determined that Grizzer had been losing confidence in his status and without the dominance of his littermate, he couldn't compete with the younger packmates. Grizzer is retired, but not currently living with the other retired wolves, Shadow and Malik. During the summer of 2011, an alternate enclosure is being planned...
