no they are just recurring characters that S.E. Hinton had in her books they are not meant as a sequel and you only see a few of the characters. but it is a good read, the movie was so-so.

no unfortunatley. well i know what happens to soda in the "sequel". he goes off to vietnam and dies there. i dont think i could watch that. LOL.
