at the end of Season 6, fans were heartbroken that they’d never see Elena Gilbert again. But now that Ian Somerhalder, 37, revealed that the show is coming to a close after Season 8

Kat Graham, 26, announced that it will be her last season, it seems Nina might not be gone after all. In fact, we’re getting word that Nina will definitely be back before the show ends!

“When the show ends Nina will be a part of it some way shape or form,” a source revealed to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “She is 10,000 percent coming back.” Find out how many episodes Nina will return for.

Elena fans, rejoice! While our insider didn’t elaborate on exactly how Nina will be making her return, it sounds like we’ll get to see her in her famous lead role at least one more time. What a silver lining to otherwise heartbreaking news for 

In case you missed it, Ian announced at Walker Stalker Con in Nashville on April 10 that there will only be one season left of

once Season 7 finishes. Although the CW told HollywoodLife.com that no official decision has been made yet, Ian sounded pretty sure about it. And with Kat also declaring her exit after next season, things are looking bleak for the show’s future beyond Season 8 — but at least fans can get excited to see Nina once again!

With such exciting news also comes some questions, though. How will Elena return if Bonnie hasn’t died yet? Does this mean Bonnie won’t make it to the end of the show’s final season? Unless the show jumps 

forward in time, showrunners will have to find a loophole to bring Elena back and keep Bonnie around!
