IMO, Stefan has and always will love Katherine more, even if he won't admit it to himself yet.

Im Not Just Saying This Because Im A DE Fan But I Feel The Main Reason Stefan Is With Elena Is Because Of Kat, He's Still Deep Down In Love With Katherine But Doesn't Wanna Admit It. I Think He Thinks Elena As Katherine But Nicer!

That scene was SO sad. :'( I think Stefan loves Elena, though. :P

@Damon_Rocks, I agree with you deep down he loves katherine so much and it really scares him. I mean it's not to say he loves Elena, but I think the feelings he has for katherine is soooo strong it scares him and all of us really :)

To me it's obvious... But maybe I'm wrong.

I think he loves them both, but as a Steferine shipper I have to pick Katherine. (So I might be a little biased here, but whatever...)

I felt that he fell in love with an image of Katherine - that used to be there aka the naive KP = Elena. He saw Elena in Katherine and loved her for it. But when he got to know Elena..he realised that the person he wanted Katherine to be didn't exist. Although, I do think he thought she was fun, he always told himself that was ok. He wanted to be solely loved by her, which didn't happen. I think Stefan eventually realised that he loved her - but not completely. It wasn't the love he wanted or had - he couldn't be enough for Katherine and her disloyalty wasn't for him

I love SK! Its so mind-boggling! But all in all - I feel that Stefan loves and cherishes the individual Elena is. He sees past her physical resemblance to Katherine because he doesn't have the same issues he had with her. To him, she was everything he was trying and failing to find in Katherine. Elena&Stefan have the same values and are very giving ppl in their relationship..that and they feel they know each other completely. I think that helps them love each other a little more XD
