Thomas the Tank Engine Is Lady really Lively Polly?

I work for National Museums Liverpool and am hoping you 'Thomas' fans can help me with a query – we are working on a timeline for the new Museum of Liverpool and will be including lots of toys, specifically for children, and are very keen on ones with a connection to Liverpool. There are a couple of references on the net to one of the ‘Thomas’ engines ‘Lady’ being based on an engine called ‘Lively Polly’ which was owned by the Liverpool Overhead Railway Company. I would be very grateful if anyone knew whether this is true? They look similar to me!

It could be a possibility. On this website, it tells you pretty much everything about Lady. link
