All the engines were gathered in the yards to hear an announcement from Tower.
Tower: I'm pleased to inform you that we have another engine joining us.
Tillie: Cool!
Jeff: Another diesel?
Tower: Yes. He's also green, but in a much darker shade than you.
And with that, Sid arrived.
Sid: Pleased to meet you lot.
Tower: Everyone, welcome Sid.
Farnsworth: Good day.
Pete: Pleased to meet you kid.
Sayaka: Welcome to Universal Lines.
Tower: Right then. Here are your jobs.
Sid's first job was to take two gondolas of gatas to the dairy. When that was done, he would travel with a short freight from St. David's to the secondary station in Doncaster.
Sid: *Pulling the gatas train. He stops at a red signal, and sees Jeff stop susunod to him*
Jeff: Hey. How are you enjoying your first day?
Sid: Off to a good start.
Jeff: Glad to hear. What's your susunod train going to be like?
Sid: A boxcar, and two centerbeams. I'll pick them up at St. Davids, drop the centerbeams at the Weston depot, then use the branchline to get my boxcar to Doncaster.
Jeff: Just to make sure, the branch is the line that goes to the right. If you go left, that'll take you to the end of the mainline in Little Ireland.
Sid: Well I certainly don't wanna make that mistake. Thanks friend.
The signal turned green, and Sid was on his way again.
sa pamamagitan ng the time he finished delivering the milk, he went straight to St. David's. He coupled up to his 3 car freight, and saw Farnsworth preparing for his non-stop express to Rosslare Depot.
Farnsworth: Ah, a Brit.
Sid: Aren't you one too? You sound British?
Farnsworth: No. I was built in New England as a prototype in '45.
Sid: My design's pretty similar to an American engine myself. So they say. I'm supposed to be a replica of the General Electric 44 Tonner.
Farnsworth: I see some resemblance.
Sid: I think the only difference is what's inside. Instead of 300 horsepower like the normal 44's, I got 400 horsepower.
Farnsworth: Mmmm. Not much of an improvement, but better than nothing.
Sid: I guess that's one downside of being built as a switcher. You don't really need a lot of power to ilipat a short string of wagons.
Farnsworth: Right. But maybe we can work together.
Sid: You need help over a hill? Just ask.
Conductor: All aboard!
Farnsworth: Time to go. Take care Sid. *Blows his horn twice, and pulls five express coaches*
Sid: Few minutos after he gets far enough, I'll soon get my clearance.
Sure enough, Sid was right. He proceeded down the line with his three cars. He soon made it to Weston where he'd drop off the two centerbeams. Once that was done, he took his one boxcar to the Doncaster Depot on the branchline.
Sid: Jeff told me to take a right, so here it goes. *Takes a right onto the branchline*
Workers: *Relaxing inside the depot*
Manager: Sid's arriving ahead of schedule. Let's get to work, and get those boxes unloaded from his car.
Sid: *Pulls up to the depot with his one boxcar*
Workers: *Opening the boxcar door, and unloading the pallets holding his boxes*
Sid: No wonder they're called boxcars.
Manager: Yeah. We have hats, and stuffed mga hayop inside those boxes, and they're needed at a store a few miles down the road. Thanks for bringing them here.
Sid: No worries mates. I'll be back soon with madami deliveries.
The dark green diesel went around a siding, and got to the other side of his car. He pulled it away after everything was unloaded.
He would return the car to St. David's. On his way, he had a green signal to get back on the mainline.
Tillie: *Coming towards Sid, pulling three tankers, and two hoppers*
Sid: My signal is green. Shouldn't she be stopping?
Tillie: *Spots Sid* Whoa!! *Applies her brakes*
Sid: *Applies his brakes*
They both stopped just in time.
Sid: What were you thinking?
Tillie: What was I thinking? I had a clear line! You need to watch out for other engines!
Sid: And you need to keep a better eye on your signals.
Tillie: *Backs up, and sees her signal is red* Oh. Forgive me.
Sid: Nothing to worry about. Just an honest mistake. *Pulls forward* I make 'em too sometimes.
Tillie watched Sid head back to St. David's with his boxcar. He arrived safely, and saw Rachael preparing for another eastbound run.
Sid: Hey. How are you doing?
Rachael: Fine. Just pulling two empties to Ivytown.
Sid: Good luck. I'll see you back at the sheds.
Rachael: *Blows her whistle twice, and pulls her train out of the station*
Sid: *Backs into the sheds* Ah. Lovely day. Maybe if my work allows me to go back to Owensville tomorrow, I can thank Tower for having me sumali this line.
And with that, Sid took a nap. He was looking pasulong to his susunod araw of work.
