Chapter 5
Let’s get started
We were standing in front of a big boat, but it wasn’t the one Dorothy visited, I knew that for sure. We were at the docks, were a lot of boats are at, I’m surprised there’s so many. But as I inspect all of them, none of them were the one I hoped.
The bangka smelled like a ton of fish, and on the corner I could just make out a small pile of dead fish, whoever owned this bangka must be careless.
“This your boat?” I asked politely, trying not to wrinkle my nose as the smell increased with each step we took.
“My uncle’s,” Cadence replied. “As you can see he’s a bit of a slob.”
I nod as I follow him inside the boat, it looks like a small cramped home, meaning that his uncle must live on this bangka while fishing too.
A man with graying hair stood with his back to us, inspecting something, muttering what sounded distinctly like Russian. Cadence cleared his throat and the man whirled around quick, but his defensive position soon relaxed when he saw his nephew.
“Cady!” the man yelled happily, pulling the boy into a hug.
“Cadence,” he replied annoyed, but he was smiling. The man noticed me and whistled. “Who’s this pretty fellah.”
“Uncle Rob meet Destiny Lorean,” Cadence said, while gently pushing me closer.
“Nice to meet you.” I sinabi politely, shaking his hand.
“The pleasure is mine,” Rob replied. “It’s nice to see pretty things then dead fish.”
Cadence rolled his eyes. “Destiny’s asked help from me for her sister’s case, and there was rumors she visited here.”
“Loreans?” Rob questioned, then his eyes lighted up. “The family of the young woman who visited here, yes she did.”
“You remember her?” Cadence asked astonished, “you don’t remember anything.”
Rob gave his nephew a stern look. “Just cause I’m older doesn’t mean I’m dumb, that girl always visited those people, partiers they were. Toilet papered all the boats.”
“Dorothy hung out with them?” I asked, shocked. “When?”
“About every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, if I’m correct, why?”
“Dorothy told me she went to these special yoga classes those days,” I told them.
“Well then,” Cadence interrupted my thinking. “Let’s get this mission started.”

We are going separate ways.
We must leave each other,
Though I regret it,
There is nothing either of us
Can do.
We are going separate ways.
The bright light shines in our futures,
For the separate ways we go
Are the best for each of us.
We must leave for the good of it,
Though I don't want to,
And I know you don't either.
But it is important that we do.
It is never easy
Doing what we do the worst,
Leaving each other,
And the thoughts that we are...
Best friends...leaving each other...
We must go our separate ways.
For our own good.
And we pray that one day...
We will meet each other again.
And we will.
We must leave each other,
Though I regret it,
There is nothing either of us
Can do.
We are going separate ways.
The bright light shines in our futures,
For the separate ways we go
Are the best for each of us.

And we will.
On a starry sky
In the moonlight
At midnight
When I think of you
My puso beats faster
For there is no one like you
Who makes my araw perfect
Make my body to go numb
Lose myself
And forever hold that smile on my face
Its true that we are
Now on our separate ways
With the promises aside
That we'll meet again
For again might also mean
The susunod moment
Or maybe never
You may ilipat on
Find your perfect princess
In this imperfect world
But to me
You'll always be
My prince charming
And thus the tanong remains
Should I ilipat on?
Should I forget?
Is this the destiny of my life?
Only time will tell
But until then
You'll hold a fragment of my soul
For my mind wants to ilipat on
But my puso stays persistent
That you'll one araw turn unto me
In the moonlight
At midnight
When I think of you
My puso beats faster
For there is no one like you
Who makes my araw perfect
Make my body to go numb
Lose myself
And forever hold that smile on my face
Its true that we are
