Chapter 2 - engagement
“What’s going on, you all look like someone has died.” Nessie came into the cottage, her hair windblown from running.
“It’s nothing sweetheart, Jake was just talking to your father about a car he thought he might want to fix up.” I’ve become quite good at lying since I became a vampire.
We all stood there staring at each other, not saying a word. I could see that Jake wasn’t going to say anything and Edward was too busy pagbaba what Nessie and Jake weren’t saying. I could see the desperation in Jakes face.
“Edward, why don’t you and I go up to the main house, I need to speak to Alice.” I tried to make it sound like this was nothing out of the ordinary. I grabbed Edwards arm and we were out of the cottage running for the main house.
“Alice, Jazz, Rose, Em, Carlisle, Esme we need to speak with you.” Edward said. All at once they were standing right in front of us.
“You told him yes, when is he going to ask her?” Alice almost shrieked at us.
“We don’t know when, just that Jake asked our permission and we gave it to him. Nessie came in before we could ask Jake any details about the proposal.” I was starting to get used to the idea of Jacob and Nessie being married.
We stayed at the main house for most of the day, Carlisle was up in his study reading, Alice and Jasper where lounging on the loveseat, Rose and Emmett where in the garahe working on his jeep. Esme was floating about the house debating on whether or not to remodel the house. Edward and I were up stairs in his old room lying on the sofa.
“So, do you suppose that Jacob has asked her sa pamamagitan ng now?” Edward asked with a small sense of fear coming off of him.
“I think Nessie would have come tahanan to tell us sa pamamagitan ng now if he had asked her. I’m sure Jake is working up to it. He seems to be a little nervous this morning, if you couldn’t tell.” I sinabi with a small smile. I was staring out the window remembering when Edward proposed to me.
“What are you thinking about?” he turned to me and asked. I was so caught up in my own little moment that I couldn’t speak. So, I just showed him in my own special way. When I was done ipinapakita him my blurred memories he just smiled and softly kissed my lips.
“Let’s go home; maybe Nessie and Jacob are waiting for us there.” We started our way down the stairs; Edward grabbed me around the waist and stopped me half way down the stairs.
“What are you doing Edward; I thought we were going home?” I said.
“We will just wait five madami seconds, trust me.” He had a small smirk on his face.
The front door opened and Jacob had Nessie on his back running into the house. They both seemed to be extremely happy, big smiles on both of their faces.
“Momma, Daddy are you here?” She almost screamed in the entry way.
“Yes we are what’s going on?” We both sinabi as we came down the stairs and met them at the door.
“Momma, Jake and I are getting married!” She came running over to us both and hugged us.
I could tell she was excited, and Jacob seemed to be just as happy as her. He seemed to be beaming with joy, staring at Nessie like he had just won the lottery.
“Everyone, Jake and I are getting married!” She didn’t have to speak very loudly for everyone to hear her.
Of course the first one to greet them was Alice. She hugged Renesmee and gave Jacob a light manuntok in the shoulder. Everyone else came to wish them congratulations; Esme looked as if she were going to cry if she could. Emmett and Jasper shook hands with Jacob; Carlisle went in for a hug. Rosalie was being very quiet standing behind everyone else.
“Aunt Rose, are you not happy for me and Jacob?” Nessie sinabi with a slight irritation in her voice.
“Are you sure you want to do this Ness, I mean he is a dog after all. I am just kidding with you Ness. We all knew this araw was coming, and I couldn’t be happier for you. For both of you.” She sinabi with a smile.
