The she-vampire who had grabbed me clamped a hand over my mouth and muttered something about just wanting to talk. Right. A small part of my brain noted that her eyes were not what I expected but I really didn't have time to think about that. I was stronger than the she-vampire expected me to be. She wasn't using any energy in holding me. I broke free for a split segundo and flung myself wildly. Whether it was because I was dizzy or because she moved I don't know but I flung myself right into her marble hard body. Everything went black.

When I came to I heard the she-vampire gasp. She whispered something about my eyes being gray before. What were they now? I was surprised but not shocked. I changed when I was around vampires. Slightly faster. Slightly stronger. Slightly better senses (Ironic isn't it? I'm at my peak when I'm up against those I still would never have a prayer of beating) Why shouldn't my eyes change too? Were they ginto like these monsters or black or red like the ones I'd seen in the past? Tears of fear threatened to fall just thinking about it.

I was in the backseat of a car with dark tinted windows. A male vampire, who seemed to be in charge of the female (Where was the other male?) spoke to me gently "I'm so sorry to take you like this. We aren't going to hurt you. We aren't going to kill anyone." Right.

The segundo male got into the car with a bottle of pills in his hand. He gave it to me, telling me to take two for the pain after I'd eaten something. He got into the driver's seat. The leader spoke again "We never intended to take you, but we couldn't leave you hurt. We only wanted to be sure that you do not intend to hurt anyone." He looked directly at the pouch in my bag that held my knife. I found myself wondering which one of them had discovered my pathetic excuse for a plan. Then I thought very clearly "I wonder if one of you can read minds and if you can... Would you smirk if I started thinking lame jokes?" I knew it was a stupid plan but the segundo male's lips twitched slightly. Bingo. I couldn't believe I was goofing off like this in my situation. I probably only had minutos to live.

The mind reader told his companions what had passed between us and the leader fought laughter. The she-vampire seemed upset that he was playing around. Done with the games ready for the meal? They were all a bit tense.
