Let me know what you think... particularly how I can make it better
Jasper
She gently guided me toward a booth. I barely noticed the stares. For a moment, she looked very Nawawala in thought, but it passed quickly. After she was seated, I slid into the booth. She beamed up at me "Always the gentleman" What did she mean "always"? She acted like we were old friends. Had I known her before? I felt sure I would remember if this angel ever crossed my path. She was short and had features. Her hair was black and short. It went in all directions, yet it didn't look messy. It was perfect. I looked into her eyes, they were neither black nor red, but golden.
"I'm Alice and you're Jasper" she began "Do you have a last name?" Her face had the slightest hint of irritation, but it vanished after I replied "Whitlock ma'am". My voice sounded rough. "Whitlock" she echoed in her breathtaking trill. If my name sounded stunning in her voice what must her name sound like? She didn't say anything for a moment, and then spoke suddenly. "I don't know my last name" she informed me. Neither her voice nor her face showed any sadness, I was the only person in the world who could have known. I felt her loneliness. And I didn't know how to comfort her.
"Let's go somewhere we can talk" She suggested. I nodded sharply. I had forgotten where we were. Now that I remembered, my throat burned painfully. She started walking as soon as I nodded and I wasted a half-second watching her. Consequently, I didn't get a chance to hold the door for her. I knew better than that. I promised myself I would be madami alert susunod time. She deserved to be treated like a lady. She seemed to be looking for a good place to talk privately. She had such a spring in her graceful step it was almost like she was skipping. The rain was letting up, giving us madami options. She pointed to a forest and cocked her head to the side. I nodded, the forest seemed ligtas enough, and followed her. If I never did anything but follow her for the rest of my existence, I would be truly happy.
When we were under the cover an oak tree, she beamed up at me. She was so tiny! She probably looked quite helpless susunod to me. susunod to her, I probably looked hardened and stupid. "You can sense and manipulate emotions" she stated confidently, then looked down "I can do something too" She could mesmerize me. "What can you do?" I asked "I can see things before they happen" She sounded like she was confessing to murder.
For a moment, I didn't really believe her, but then I remembered how she had acted in the diner. "I can't see everything." she sinabi a little madami brightly. With the help of my gift, the last of her fear vanished. "But when someone makes a decision, I see the consequences of that decision. Plus I can see things like the weather" She was such an extraordinary young lady! "You saw me?" I clarified. She nodded. "Then you waited for me?" She nodded again "I knew you would come to the kainan on a rainy araw and I wanted to meet you" I wondered why she would possibly want to meet with me. I had nothing to offer her, though I knew I would try to give her whatever she asked. "I've seen us traveling together" She informed me. It sounded like an invitation. I smiled at the thought. "Is that something you'd like to try?" she asked brightly. I couldn't find my voice so I simply nodded the happiest nod of my life.
Suddenly, she was in my arms. In all my years working with vampires, I'd never encountered one so light. "We're going to get along well" She told me. I nodded. I knew I would never be able to deny her anything "I couldn't imagine it any other way Miss Alice" I whispered. I hoped "Miss Alice" was acceptable, seeing as her surname was unknown. I loved saying her beautiful name.
We stood there, looking at each other, for a very long time. Looking in her eyes, I felt like life had meaning. It was the most comforting thing imaginable. I wanted the moment to last, but curiosity got the better of me "May I ask you something Miss Alice?" I requested humbly. She nodded her consent. "Your eyes." She grabbed my hand and started pulling me slightly "I'll ipakita you."
Alice
The rain was letting up as I looked for a place we could talk. I tried to choose what I would tell him. I would have to tell him I saw the future. I would probably tell him I saw us traveling together. I wouldn't tell him how much I'd been watching him and I wouldn't tell him what I'd seen a few months ago. Maybe in a few weeks, after Jasper had had some time to adjust to my visions, I would explain.
There was a forest to our right. I pointed to it and he nodded. I liked how we could communicate without words. I walked under an oak tree, then turned to face him. I'd known he was tall, but I was still a bit surprised at how far I had to tilt my head back to look into his face. I let myself look at him for a segundo or two before I began.
"You can sense and manipulate emotions" I began. It was cowardly to remind him. I was hoping that if his ability was in the front of his mind, mine would seem madami believable "I can do something too" He smiled slightly "What can you do?" he wondered "I can see things before they happen" I admitted. I wondered if this would be too weird for him, but I didn't look into the future: I couldn't tear my eyes away from his face.
He took a segundo to digest what I'd just told him and nodded so slightly I doubted he even realized he was doing it. If I only had human sight I would never have caught it, but it gave me hope. "I can't see everything." I explained. I felt my nervousness fade and then cease all together. He was easing my fear. I was so grateful that he wanted to help. Then I remembered what I had been saying before. "But when someone makes a decision, I see the consequences of that decision. Plus I can see things like the weather" I couldn't help sounding a little smug. He didn't seem to notice.
His words were all business, yet his voice was gentle. "You saw me?" He asked. I nodded. "Then you waited for me?" He tilted his head. I nodded "I knew you would come to the kainan on a rainy araw and I wanted to meet you" I informed him. "Wanted to meet" was the understatement of the year.
It was time to ask. I knew that eventually, we would be close friends, but I didn't know how difficult it would be to convince him to give me a chance. "I've seen us traveling together" He smiled at me and I couldn't help but smile back "Is that something you'd like to try?" I wondered. He paused a moment to take my offer in. I bit my lip. Then, he nodded. His eyes were bright.
Impulsively, I threw my arms around him "We're going to get along well" I promised. He nodded "I couldn't imagine it any other way Miss Alice" he whispered. Calling me "Miss Alice" was darling, but I felt like we should b e on a first name basis. I decided to wait awhile to tell him. I had been watching him; he needed a chance to get to know me. I didn't want to rush him.
We stood there, looking at each other. I found tahanan then, looking in his eyes. We weren't even touching, yet I felt surrounded. It was wonderful. Finally, he broke the silence "May I ask you something Miss Alice?" I nodded quickly. I wanted him to speak again. I wanted to hear his voice. "Your eyes." he sinabi simply. I took his hand "I'll ipakita you."
