It was entirely wrong to do that without her knowledge, yes. If Bella doesn't mind him watching her after she finds out then fine but before that? Definately creepy.

Vampires don't sleep so Edward thinks it fascinating that Bella sleeps. Its kind of alkward but I don't critisice Edward's actions becase what he does, Bella CAN'T do..except write, speak, hear, etc.. Can Bella run as fast as Edward? Can Bella hunt? Can Edward sleep????
