The main reason i re-read and re-read the books is because of Edward, I just love him so much!

I also love other characters but Edward would have to be my Fav!!!

edward is the definition of love to me. he is fantastic. his and bellas relationship reminds me of me and my fiance. im in love with edward!

There are more Edward fans (other then in my town), but the Jacob fans are more die-hard. Edward fans are more common place so some of them, most of them, don't get as excited about stuff.

If you're a die-hard Edward fan, like me, I'm sorry for saying this, but this is just how I see it.

Ok, I had to pick Jake, but the majority really lies with Edward. However, I think Jake fans are more active and vocal in their adoration and some, notice SOME, Edward fans aren't that bothered.

I think the majority, of course, lies with Edward. I like him the most too as of now but I really want to get to know Jacob better in the fourth book or another book. I like them both.

Jasper! I like him much more than anyone else, well there's Emmett too, but Jasper definitely.

I love Edward, he's just perfect and I love him exactly how he is. But I love Jacob too, so much! He's much more normal, but truly loyal and he's the perfect friend, and I think he'd be much better for Bella.
But at first, the reason I kept reading the books, was Edward. Now, it is to see how it'll end... =)

Obviously, most of the fans love Edward. I don't. I prefer Jacob because he's the most real character of the series, along with most of the humans and some of the wolves. But the question clearly asks a broad question, not a personal one.

Ok bear with me here but this is my theory...
So the boys may have more fans, but isn't that because of what we've read about them. I mean whenever I read the books I realise that yes I am completely in love with a fictional character!
But we re-read these books (weather we like Edward or Jacob more) to live vicariously through Bella. (I'm fairly sure of my self as I type this) If it wasn't for Bella's character and how much she loves both boys and the rest of the Cullens, would almost every girl who reads the books (or the movie to a certain extent) feel the way thy do towards these characters? I don't think so.
So my theory is that even though we don't really know it and would probably never say she was our favourite character, really every girl in their own heads is Bella. Therefore so many fans love her she must have the biggest fan base!

I would, I love him as a character and if I met him in real life, I couldn't even picture my reaction, I wish I was Bella, because I could have Edward and, I'm not saying Jacob isn't a great guy, but Edward is perfect for me. I don't mind the over-protective part or the over-reactive part.
