For someone who is just starting out on manga and anime, DONT GIVE THEM VAMPIRE KNIGHT!!!! ITS TOO FUCKING CONFUSING!!! give them something simple like Chibi Vampire, Meru Puri, or Fruits Basket. Now, other than that yes. I would recomend Vampire Knight. But to a newcomer, even D.N Angel is pushing it.
