Walt Disney's 28th Animated Feature, The Little Mermaid (1989)
Walt Disney's 28th Animated Feature, The Little Mermaid (1989)
Hello fellow Disney Fans.

As you all know, I pag-ibig Disney Animation. I pag-ibig to watch the movies, hear the songs and look at the characters. But one thing I really pag-ibig is watching the animation in slow motion. It gives a great insight to how much work the animators puts into their work. It's facinating to me to watch a scene or a sequence in slow motion, as then I get madami details the susunod time I see the movies.
Now, you all know how much I pag-ibig The Little Mermaid. My paborito movie of all-time. Ever since I was a little boy, I enjoyed to watch the movie, even in slow motion. When I discovered how to make gifs, I have made many gifs from various Disney Classics, but most from Mermaid. So, one araw I though "Why not make some gifs in slow motion and make an artikulo about it." So here it is. But it is not done yet, as there are MANY gifs I want to make in slow motion. So you better keep checking this artikulo if this sounds like something you would want to follow as well.
I own the book The Art of The Little Mermaid from Sotheby's New York and they have a great insight to some of the sequences I have made gifs of. I will apply the information to each gif as it is described in the book, so some of these will not include the comments of if it's a single cel set-up or otherwise as I don't have the information of knowing it. But hopefully you'll like the gifs anyway.
Also, all the frames will be available to download in the Gallery, under Photos, with the pananda "walt disney screencaps" + "the little mermaid".
link to go to the screencaptures from The Little Mermaid.

Image #1: Vanessa and the ulang and the Starfish:

Single cel set-up applied to a matching watercolor background of the sky.
Quote: Vanessa screaming.
Number of frames: 84 frames.
Description of the sequence: A blue ulang has landed on Vanessa's head and pinches her nose with his claw. As she lets out a scream, she is suddenly attacked sa pamamagitan ng starfish.
PrueFever's comment: One of my paborito sequences with Ursula as Vanessa. As Vanessa bows her head down to let out a scream, notice the squash and stretch of her face. When the starfish starts to cover her body, notice the speed in the animation. Suddenly the animation is done on ones, instead of twos. That is because its a fast scene. Until the last starfish hits her on the mouth, the animation goes back on twos. Also notice Vanessa's fringe as her head is pushed backwards.

Image #2: Princess Ariel blows her hair.

Single cel set-up applied to a matching watercolor background of the sky.
Quote: *No quote*
Number of frames: 68 frames.
Description of the sequence: Ariel blows her hair as she can't tell Prince Eric her name because she has ibingiay her voice to Ursula. Then suddenly she gets an idea.
PrueFever's comment: I pag-ibig this sequence of Ariel here. A little behind-the-scenes secret. Sherri Stoner, the live-action model used for Ariel's scenes, used to blow her hair out of her face alot. So the Ariel animators gave that little bit to Ariel in this scene. Also, can you see where the Disney animators have used one frame instead of two?

Image #3: Princess Ariel:

Single cel set-up applied to a matching watercolor background of reeds and cattails.
Quote: *No quote*
Number of frames: 33 frames.
Description of the sequence: Crawling up on a reed and grabbing a cattail as if it was a microphone, Sebastian leans over to sing in Prince Eric's ear. Eric ask Ariel if she heard anything and she shrugs her shoulders.
PrueFever's comment: Notice that Ariel is animated on two frames, but the moving background are framed at ones. That means that the Disney animators captured Ariel in one frame, kept the same frame of her and moved the background little sa pamamagitan ng little as the scene plays out, giving the feeling that she is in a bangka that is floating on the water.

Image #4: Vanessa and the Pelicans.

Two cel set-up applied to a matching watercolor background of the sky and the ship's side rail.
Quote: Vanessa: Oh! Oh! Oh!
Number of frames: 66 frames
Description of the sequence: As sealions jumps over the railing onto the wedding ship, Vanessa turns her head with an sullen expression on her face. Suddenly she is hit in the face with water sa pamamagitan ng a flying pelican. As she recovers from the water and the confusion of what just happend, another pelikano flies toward her. And again she is covered in water, but this time, also with green fish. As she stand up again, she notice a third pelikano flying toward her. Before Vanessa can do anything, she is yet again attacked with water and lobsters.
PrueFever's comment: In this seqence, notice how the pelicans are animated on the ones as they fly into the frame. But as the hit Vanessa, they go back on twos. I have always been facinated sa pamamagitan ng this sequence and I have to admit, it's my paborito sequence with Vanessa. It's just so funny.

Image #5: Ursula Singing.

This one surprised me a little. When I made the gif, there were certain places where I was sure the Disney animators would have animated on the ones. They do, but I thought they would do it as Ursula puts her hands up to her face. But they didn't do that. But I do pag-ibig the frame where Ursula suddenly grows six arms xD

Image #6: Vanessa Gasping.

Single cel set-up applied to a matching watercolor background of the sky.
Quote: Vanessa Gasping.
Number of frames: 34 frames.
Description of the sequence: Vanessa coming up from the ground, as the blue birds swoops over her head. She's looking up at Scuttle and the birds who are now headed right in her direction again.
PrueFever's comment: This one always makes me laugh as you can see the squash and stretch of her face and her eyes are popping out of her head in surprise. It even looks better in slow motion.

Image #7: Vanessa.

Two cel set-up applied to a matching watercolor background.
Quote: Vanessa: Snickers
Number of frames: 69 frames.
Description of the sequence: Vanessa looks down on her shell, that holds Ariel's voice inside.
PrueFever's comment: Now this shot is my paborito of Vanessa. You might have noticed I have a soft spot for Ursula as Vanessa. But I just think she looks really beautiful here. She goes from sweet to evil here. One thing I pag-ibig about this shot is how beautiful Vanessa's hair is. I pag-ibig how detailed it is, the many lines in it.

Image #8: Princess Ariel, Sebastian and some Fish.

Four cel set-up applied to a matching watercolor background of the sea.
Quote: Sebastian (singing): ...surround you. What madami is you lookin' for?
Number of frames: 68 frames.
Description of the sequence: As Sebastian sings about life under the ocean floor, a school of isda swims around Ariel.
PrueFever's comment: This sequence was quite tough to make as you can see the isda moves on the ones, while Ariel and Sebastian are animated on the twos. So I had to capture every frame and make sure they were in the right order. But it's a beautiful and fun sequence from the film.

Image #9: Vanessa throws her hair pin.

Single cel set-up applied to a matching watercolor background of the cabin.
Quote: Vanessa (singing): ...ultimate design.
Number of frames: 48 frames.
Description of the sequence: Vanessa is happy that her plan is working hand throws her hairpin at the mirror.
PrueFever's comment: This sequence was great to do a gif of, as Vanessa here, is full of attitude! I even noticed a mistake I never seen before! Look at the pin, in one frame, the tuktok dissapears! xD Crazy that I never noticed this little mistake before, but there it is.

Image #10: Vanessa & the Starfish.

Single cel set-up applied to a matching watercolor background of the sky.
Quote: Vanessa: Get away from me, you slimy, little..!
Number of frames: 53 frames.
Description of the sequence: After she has been covered in starfish, Vanessa begins to pluck them off of her body. Angrily shouting "Get away from me, you slimy little..." before an unknown force makes her fall on her back, lifting her into the air.
PrueFever's comment:
There are so many great screencaptures in this little sequence here. I pag-ibig how angry Vanessa is and that she fights back. In one frame it looks like she's fighting in a boxing match. xD

Image #11: Princess Ariel bows her head.

Single cel set-up applied to a matching watercolor background.
Quote: *No quote*
Number of frames: 48 frames.
Description of the sequence: After shyly walking up to Prince Eric, Ariel bows her head after he tells her she looks wonderful.
PrueFever's comment: I always loved this short of Ariel here. She's just so cute. The way she smiles at Eric is just great. And her hair looks full of life and volume here.

Image #12: Vanessa bounced up and down sa pamamagitan ng a sealion.

Vanessa is flipped over sa pamamagitan ng a sealion and tossed up into the air, unto to fall down again on the head of the sealion as blue birds fly around the chaos. This one was also funny to make, as you see some very funny shorts of Vanessa. Also, where are her legs? In the short where she lands in the wedding cake, they are clearly visible. But not here.

Image #13: Princess Ariel pulls Ursula's hair.

This little sequence is made up of 25 frames. I can understand why the directors wanted this sequence staged like this, but I wish we got to see Ursula's tentacles in this shot as well.

Image #14: Princess Ariel.

Single cel set-up applied to a matching watercolor background.
Quote: *No quote*
Number of frames: 16 frames.
Description of the sequence: Prince Eric has taken Princess Ariel to the marketplace, and she is delighted sa pamamagitan ng all the activity.
PrueFever's comment: This is such a cute sequence of Ariel. She is just like me, when I went to Walt Disney World in 2014. So many things to see, to hear, to smell.

Image #15: Princess Ariel, dapa & Glut.

Glut the pating breaks through the floorboards as it seeks out Princess Ariel and Flounder. Notice how dapa swims right into Glut's mouth and right back out again.

Image #16: Vanessa.

Single cel set-up applied to a matching watercolor background.
Quote: Vanessa: Screaming.
Number of frames: 12 frames.
Description of the sequence: As Vanessa and Scuttle are fighting over her shell necklace, Max runs over and bites her in the ass. Vanessa lets out an enormous scream.
PrueFever's comment: A really funny little sequence with Vanessa. I pag-ibig how big her mouth and hair gets.

Image #17: Vanessa.

Prince Eric has run to Princess Ariel and Vanessa yells to him "Get away from her" but in Ursula's voice rather than Ariel's voice. I pag-ibig her little "Oops,-I-have-my-own-voice-now" shock face.

Image #18: Ursula, Princess Ariel & Prince Eric.

Ursula, steaming with anger, becomes a giant and rises out of the sea. As her crown rises to the surface, Eric and Ariel, who are hanging on tuktok of the crown, leap off into the sea. Notice Ursula's body suddenly dissapears from view as Ariel and Eric fall. Also, this is the frames that got people talking back in 2013 when The Little Mermaid first was released to Blu-ray Disc. As you can see in the upper right coner, when Ariel and Eric hits the water, there seems to be a tear in the frames. Those wasn't present in the Limited Issue DVD from 1999 or the Platinum Edition DVD from 2006.

Image #19: Princess Ariel.

After King Triton calls humans barbarians, Princess Ariel yells at him, saying "Daddy, they're not barbarians!". I really like Ariel in this little sequence here. I bet if she was a teenager on land, she would have stomp her feet as she says this line.

Image #20: Sebastian, Princess Ariel & Scuttle.

A very excited Scuttle has flown into Ariel's room, waking up the Princess and Sebastian. Scuttle tells Ariel "Congratulations, kiddo, we did it!" I always loved Ariel's groggy expression in this sequence and when Scuttle startles her, her eyes go full open, only to be half closed again. It looks so funny. xD

Image #21: Princess Ariel & Flounder.

This is one of my paborito sequences from Part of Your World. Just the way it is staged and animated is just beautiful! And I pag-ibig the animation of Ariel's hair! So flowy, full of life!

Image #22: Ursula.

Single cel set-up applied to a matching watercolor background of the interior of the cave.
Quote: *No quote*
Number of frames: 36 frames.
Description of the sequence: After Ariel asks Ursula if she can turn her into a human, Ursula smiles wickedly.
PrueFever's comment: This little sequence is just pure gold! You can just see what Ursula is thinking here and it's "Haha, got you now!"
Another thing I like in these frames, is that you can see the Xerox animation on the coloring. Look at the outlines of Ursula's hair.

Image #23: Vanessa, Prince Eric, Scuttle & the Blue Birds.

This little sequence lasts for exactly 24 frames. Again, this is a fun sequence. There is one mistake here. The blue birds are still flying from Vanessa as she looks up in surprise. They should have been away from there.
Notice that Scuttle doesn't fly under Vanessa's dress, but straight pass it, causing it to open up so the blue birds can fly under it. Also, another thing I noticed as I was making this GIF was, poor Scuttle has Nawawala his feets. xD They're just gone!
Look at the faces of the blue birds as they come out from the dress! :D They're just having a party! xD

Image #24 & 25: Ursula.

The Death of the Sea Witch, Part 1 and 2. This gif was hard to make. But fun at the same time. I had to make this one into a two part as the single gif file was too big to upload. (12,0 mb). So that is why this is a two-parts. But it's an interesting scene as Ursula meets her doom. In some storybooks I have, it says that the trident backfires and electrocuting her body. I can see it in the first gif. I also pag-ibig that we see Ursula's seleton in one frame. But darn, she's hit with the lightning many times!

Image #26: Princess Ariel & Her Sisters.

Princess Ariel, humming, plucks a bulaklak and smells it. Then she swims off while her sisters, Princess Attina, Princess Adella, Princess Andrina and Princess Aquata are amazed sa pamamagitan ng her unusual behaviour. I really like the animation of Ariel in this sequence. I think she's beautifully animated here. One thing that baffles me, is that, when does the animators know when to animate Ariel on twos instead of ones. Like, she starts off animated on twos. She then goes on to be animated on ones as she reaches for the flower. Then she goes back to being animated on twos for some frames as she plucks the flower. As Ariel takes the bulaklak up to her nose, she goes back to being animated on ones. When she starts to smell the flower, she's back on two frames. And finally, as she starts to swim away, she's back on one frames.

Image #27: Princess Ariel.

Princess Ariel sings about her desire to be where the people are. This is just another great sequence from Part of Your World, animated sa pamamagitan ng Glen Keane. I pag-ibig the lightning on the rock Ariel is pag-awit on. It's really beautiful.

Image #28: Prince Eric.

Prince Eric, realizing that Max is still on the flaming ship, jumps into the water to return to the ship and rescue Max. As he has come on the deck, the mast of the ship breaks and this is Eric's reaction to it.

Image #29: Cheif Louis & Sebastian.

Sebastian dashes under a litsugas leaf, using it as camouflage as he attempts to scurry away. But when Louis pounds the isda with a mallet, the force causes Sebastian to pop in the air. I always loved this sequence. Especially Cheif Louis' hat! Just look at it as he hits the fish! xD So funny!

Image #30: Prince Eric & Princess Ariel.

Leaving the village in a carriage, Prince Eric offers the reins to Princess Ariel. She grabs them and the horse take off, bouncing the carriage over a ravine. sombrero (Computer Animation Production System) are used in this sequence. Also, notice the mistake here as the wheels on the carriage don't ilipat as it moves on the ground.

Image #31: Princess Ariel.

Two cel set-up including a painted cel of the grand staircase applied to a matching watercolor background.
Quote: *No quote*
Number of frames: 109 frames.
Description of the sequence: Princess Ariel is extremely happy sa pamamagitan ng the news Scuttle has announced. She runs down the stairs but comes to a sudden stop when she overhears a conversation between Prince Eric and Sir Grimsby and she sees Vanessa for the first time.
PrueFever's comment: This is another sombrero shot as the whole staircase behind Ariel is computer animated. I pag-ibig how fast Ariel runs down the stairs and also how she reaches for the bannister.

Image #32: Vanessa's transformation back into Ursula.

As Princess Ariel is too late to get true's love's halik from Prince Eric before sunset on the third day, Ursula decides to ditch her Vanessa human form and reveal her true ugly self. This is my paborito transformation scene in the movie. It is just pure awesome, with lightning and the way Ursula's tentacles just burst out of the wedding dress. I also chuckle the way the animator (Kathy Zielinski, I believe, did this transformation scene) made her boobs pop out before the rest of her huge body is changed back. xD But it is certainly a great moment in the movie.

Image #33 & 34: Ursula's transformation into Vanessa.

When Princess Ariel is getting a little too close to get a halik from Prince Eric, Ursula decides to take matters into her own tentacles and disguise herself as a human girl named Vanessa.
This is another great sequence, but I have to say, that this was also the hardest one to make. I can even see I made a mistake in the first GIF, as the light flickers a moment. Nevertheless, this is also a great transformation scene. It is interesting to see how Ursula becomes Vanessa. Look at her face as she transforms and her hair. Did you guys notice all the smoke that appears as the scene fades to Eric's castle? One thing I always wanted to see was how did Vanessa get from Ursula's lair to the surface. Did she swim? In some storybooks it says she transported herself with a loud thunderclap.

Image #35: Prince Eric & Vanessa.

Upon hearing that Eric will be married to the mysterious girl, Ariel runs away in tears. When Vanessa sees Ariel flee, she snuggles up to the Prince.
I pag-ibig the animation of Vanessa here. In the frames after she has closed her eyes, it looks like she has segundo doubts. But it only lasts for two frames xD

Image #36: Princess Ariel.

The Youngest Princess of Sea returns to her dream Prince, once again fully human.
This is such a beautiful sequence. I really wish we got to see some madami scenes with Ariel in this beautiful dress!

Image #37: Flotsam, Ursula & Jetsam.

Three cel set-up applied to a matching watercolor background of the interior of the cave.
Quote: Ursula (singing): Well, a witch, but...
Number of frames: 47 frames.
Description of the sequence: Ursula sings to Princess Ariel that she used to be nasty and that people weren't kidding when they called her a witch.
PrueFever's comment: This little sequence is full of attitude from all three, Ursula, Flotsam and Jetsam. I also discovered another little mistake here. Look at Flotsam, the igat on the right side of Ursula. Near the end of the gif, notice how the animators forgot to ilipat him so that he still covers a part of Ursula. But in the very last frame, they fixed this little mistake.

Image #38: Princess Ariel & Prince Eric.

As Ariel hears Eric breathe, she starts to sing to him.
This is a beautiful sequence, as we see Ariel as a mermaid, lay susunod to a human. I also really like her fins, they act like a mga hayop tail. One tiny little animation error I discovered when I did this GIF. Take a look at Ariel's fins. In two frames, some of her fins dissapears and then reappears again. This was another mistake I never noticed before now xD

Image #39: Max & Princess Ariel.

Two cel set-up applied to a matching watercolor background.
Quote: Prince Eric: Max!
Number of frames: 71 frames.
Description of the sequence: Max jumps up and licks Ariel's face. She smiles greatly and turns her head away from the dog. Suddenly Max hear Prince Eric call his name and he runs back to his owner. Ariel, also hearing the sound of Eric's voice, turns her head toward the sound.
PrueFever's comment: One of the most adorable sequences with Ariel and Max. Just look at Ariel's face when Max licks her cheek. I pag-ibig her smile here. She looks really cute here.

Image #40 & 41: Vanessa.

Description of the sequence: Ursula, disguised as the maiden Vanessa, walks along the tabing-dagat at night, pag-awit with Ariel's voice. As she sings the glowing shell around her neck, releases a strong hypnotic spell that gets the hold of Prince Eric.
PrueFever's comment: This was another rather difficult one to make, but I got through it! It was tough, as you can see the glowing on Vanessa's shell keeps on changing on every frame. So I had to capture A LOT of frames to make sure I got every singe one, then I had to make sure they were in the right order. The scene is really beautiful! I always loved this sequence of Vanessa with her long hair and the cape that is blowing in the wind. Two things I will say about this sequence here. One is, if you notice in the beginning of the segundo gif, notice Vanessa's hair. In a couple of frames it goes so high that it makes a puwang between her shoulders and her hair. It always bothered me as it doesn't make sense with the hair that is on her left side. The segundo thing is, watch the glowing light on her shell in the segundo gif as well. In one frame, the shell moves, but the glowing effect on the shell doesn't ilipat with it. Just a tiny little funny mistake I've noticed.

Image #42: Princess Ariel.

Single cel set-up applied to a matching watercolor background of the sky.
Quote: *No Quote*
Number of frames: 76 frames.
Description of the sequence: As Prince Eric walks over to Ariel, she fixes her hair as she's both excited and nervous at the same time.
PrueFever's comment: This sequence is just so beautiful drawn! I really pag-ibig this shot of Ariel as she looks straight in the camera and the way she kinda bites her lower lip. I also pag-ibig her left eyebrow in the end of the sequence.

Image #43: Princess Ariel.

Princess Ariel signs the contract with Ursula.
I pag-ibig the mga kulay of this sequence. I also pag-ibig how dramatic this is. The way Ariel closes her eyes and writes her name.

Image #44: Vanessa & Prince Eric.

Two cel set-up applied to a matching watercolor background of the sky.
Quote: The Priest: Yes, um, do you Eric, take Vanessa, to be your lawfully wedded wife, for as long as you both shall live?
Number of frames: 48 frames.
Description of the sequence: Vanessa and Eric are standing in front of the Priest and as he asks the groom if he will marry the bride, Vanessa takes a glance at the sunset and smiles wickedly.
PrueFever's comment: This one was a little hard to make as there aren't any wild action happening in this sequence. Having sinabi that, I pag-ibig this sequence. Look at how evil Vanessa looks here. Also, look at her left eye. In the very first frame, the purple is gone from the right side, but then it appears in the susunod frame. And then the white suddenly dissapears.

Image #45: Ursula.

Single cel set-up applied to a matching watercolor background of the sea.
Quote: "It's done then."
Number of frames: 27 frames.
Description of the sequence: Ursula is thrilled when King Triton signs the contract, exchanging Princess Ariel for himself.
PrueFever's comment: I really pag-ibig the expression of Ursula's face in this sequence. In the very first frame, look at her eyes. You can tell, she can't believe King Triton just signed the contract. Then she face turns really evil and then she goes closer to the camera as she yells the word "done". It's a great sequence.

Image #46: Princess Ariel & the seahorses.

Three cel set-up applied to a matching watercolor background of the sea.
Quote: Sebastian (singing): Nobody beat us, fry us and eat us. In fricassee
Number of frames: 100 frames.
Description of the sequence: As Sebastian sings about how great life is under the sea, a bored Ariel touches the seaweed on oceanfloor. Suddenly a little seahorse emerges, followed sa pamamagitan ng her little friends. They swirl around the mer-princess, delighting her.
PrueFever's comment: I had actually deleted all of those frames from my computer when I had to look at how many frames there was in this sequence. *GULP* So I had to freeze-frame the movie and do a count. xD
This is one of the most used frames from the movie (along with a few others). Another great sequence with The Little Mermaid.

Image #47: Princess Ariel.

Single cel set-up applied to a matching watercolor background of a tufted leather highback chair & large panes of glass.
Quote: *No quote*
Number of frames: 92 frames.
Description of the sequence: Ariel sits down at the dining mesa and notices a fork sa pamamagitan ng the plate. She picks the fork up and starts to combing her hair.
PrueFever's comment: Another really great shot of Ariel. I pag-ibig how she remember that Scuttle gave the information about forks. This is such a hilarious sequence that never fails to make me laugh.

Image #48: Sebastian.

Three cel set-up applied to a matching watercolor background of the sea.
Quote: *No quote*
Number of frames: 22 frames.
Description of the sequence: Sebastian plays the shells like a drum.
PrueFever's comment: Again, this is one of the madami popular sequences from the Under the Sea song. Sebastian is like a DJ, just underwater xD

Image #49: Princess Ariel.

Three cel set-up applied to a matching watercolor background of the sky.
Quote: *No Quote*
Number of frames: 53 frames.
Description of the sequence: Ariel breaks the surface of the water.
PrueFever's comment: An epic sequence. It's beautiful animated. I pag-ibig how the water is like diamonds, sparkling all around Ariel as she flips her hair.

Image #50: Princess Ariel, dapa & Glut.

Five cel set-up applied to a matching watercolor background of the sea.
Quote: Flounder: You big bully!
Number of frames: 145 frames.
Description of the sequence: After Glut becomes trapped in the anchor's ring, Ariel swims down to pick up her bag. As she swim away, dapa sticks out his tongue at Glut who attempts to snap at him again. But both Ariel and dapa get away unharmed.
PrueFever's comment: As a kid, I always laughed at this sequence. After being chased and almost eaten sa pamamagitan ng Glut, dapa isn't afraid of the big shark. That is, until Glut takes one final snap af him! xD My two best friends' daughter, who's 6 years old, loves Flounder's quote here! I asked her what's her paborito scene in the movie was, and she sinabi it was the one with the shark. And I bet it's because of the sequence here.

Image #51: Ursula & Princess Ariel.

Three cel set-up applied to a matching watercolor background of the sea.
Quote: Ariel: You monster! Ursula: Don't fool with me, you little brat!
Number of frames: 84 frames.
Description of the sequence: Ursula has transformed King Triton into a polyp in exchange for releasing his daughter. Ariel is furious and attacks Ursula, who throws her on the seafloor and points the trident in her face.
PrueFever's comment: A great sequence! I pag-ibig Ursula's facial expression as she is attacked sa pamamagitan ng Ariel. Another thing I pag-ibig here, is Ariel's animation after she's been thrown down. She's just cold about that! xD Just look at her face! :D

Image #52: Vanessa & Scuttle.

Two cel set-up applied to a matching watercolor background of the sky.
Quote: Scuttle: (SQUAWKS!) Vanessa: Oh, why you little..!
Number of frames: 62 frames.
Description of the sequence: Scuttle lets an enormous squawk in Vanessa's face. But she's fighting back, starting to strangle Scuttle.
PrueFever's comment: Another one of my paborito moments from the Wedding scene. Look at Vanessa as Scuttle screams in her face! xD The way she's completely blown back sa pamamagitan ng his yell. One thing I will say about Vanessa is, although she has a small part in the movie, the animators made sure she was drawn beautifully! Just take a look at the frame where she first closes her eyes after the yell.
You can see the frame I'm talking about link
She looks really sexy! So although her part wasn't that big, the animators never failed with her animation.

Image #53: Princess Ariel.

Three cel set-up applied to a matching watercolor background of the sky.
Quote: Princess Ariel (Singing): Part of Your World.
Number of frames: 47 frames.
Description of the sequence: Princess Ariel pag-awit that someday she'll be part of Prince Eric's world.
PrueFever's comment: Another great, iconic sequence from the movie. I pag-ibig the animation of Ariel here, as it shows how determined she is now. Here she is fully in pag-ibig with a human, wanting nothing madami than to be a human herself, so she can be with the man of her dreams and explore the human world. Bonus Info: Did you know, that Glen Keane, who was one of the supervising animators of Ariel, acted out this scene? :D John Musker and Ron Clements talks about it on the movie's audio commentary. :D I would have loved to see that footage! :P

Image #54: Princess Ariel.

Single cel set-up applied to a matching watercolor background of the sea.
Quote: Princess Ariel: But if you would just listen!
Number of frames: 76 frames.
Description of the sequence: Princess Ariel tries to get her father to listen to her.
PrueFever's comment: I have always loved this sequence with Ariel. I think she looks beautiful here, but there are also some funny screencaps of her as well.

Image #55: Princess Ariel.

Single cel set-up applied to a matching watercolor background of the sea.
Quote: Princess Ariel: Daddy, I'm sorry, I just forgot...
Number of frames: 40 frames.
Description of the sequence: Princess Ariel tries to explain to her father, why she was late.
PrueFever's comment: A cute little sequence with Ariel. It clearly shows she's unable to lie.
