She coughed, when a voice boomed from the shadows, “Why if we could not get the Last Son of Krypton, just get something better. Exact powers, same weaknesses, but more. Stronger, madami power. The Last Daughter of Krypton. Give into hopelessness my dear. Freedom is a lie.” A body came closer, wrinkled face, bobbed white hair, and sly and dangerous eyes. Harley hissed and spit at the woman’s feet, “Never!” The old woman slapped her with force that made her lip bust. “you should speak with just a tad madami respect to Granny. And madami when you meet Mighty Darkseid.” Harley spat again, even through the pain of her lips, “I will never turn for him, I will never give in. There is always hope.”
Granny Goodness laughed, “You think your special dear? In fact you just a little slow, all the others learned long nakaraan that their lives are meaningless. Give into Granny.” Harley’s black hair that had grown over her eyes in the last nine days, couldn’t cover ferocity, “I’d rather die.” Granny Goodness smiled and leaned into her face, too close for Harley, “If that preference.”
3 Hours Later:
“And what shall we do, Oh Mighty Darkseid, with The Last Daughter Krypton? She does not give in to any of Granny’s methods, torture or mind washing. And beat the Female Furies.” Dessaad sinabi looking at Darkseid.
Kalibak roared, “Let me deal with her Father, I shall teach her!” Darkseid snapped, “NO! You fool. I will make an Example of her. For all to see, that they should fear the Mighty Darkseid. I will ipakita to Earth, that one of their mighty bayani can be broken, that their Mighty Heroine has fallen.”
On Earth: 3 days later
“She’s been gone for over a week Bruce.” Clark snapped, “Where is she?” Bruce glared at the Man of Steel in his reporter’s clothes, “I truthfully don’t know Clark. Varhiez is in Arkham. And Luthor has had no interest in her for some time now. Ever since she turned 19.” Clark paced angrily in Wayne Manor. Bruce stood up, “we should get to the cave. We need to talk with the team to start a paghahanap for her.”
Back on Apokolips:
Harley’s black hair hang around her in a mess. Kryptonite jewels had been stabbed into her balat to make tattoos. She was chained to the wall, without anything to eat for 2 weeks, her powers she could not control. A door creaked open, and Harley didn’t bother to look up. Instead her voice echoed in anger across the room, “I will never give in! Not now, not ever! I will never raise my head for Apokolips, I’d rather die!” But the voice that greeted her did not belong to Granny. No, this voice was deep, serious, and frightening. “Your wish will come true Oh Daughter of Krypton. However, you will still rise for Apokolips.” Harley’s head shot up, and looked into the red glowing omega beamed eyes of Darkseid. Her face went from weathered, tired, angry, and determined, to fearful. If Darkseid had been one to smile, this would have been the time.
Two Parademons grabbed the chains and pulled her out of the prison. Harley struggled, but she was out of heart. She had ibingiay up, Granny had been right, maybe there was no hope. She was taken outside to the end of a staircase. She looked up, and she was dragged to the higher ground. Her eyes fixed to the ground as the Kryptonite Jewels dug farther into her skin. She winced and kept her head down. But her head was forced up sa pamamagitan ng will, when the scent of blood caught in her nose. Her eyes widened as the Parademons came to a stop, and they grabbed her arms, she struggled now. Her arms waving wildly, and screaming. People from below looked up able to see the clamor.
Harley screamed, her nails digging into the faces of the Parademons as they tried to lift her. Finally they lifted her to the air, and slammed her down on the “table”. Harley’s hands were strapped down, so were her legs. She struggled, but she got no where. The blood dripping down her arms and face, and rest of her body mixed with the blood that was already present. A tall shadow appeared and her expression stayed to fear, looking up at Darkseid. His voice boomed, “MAY THE LAST DAUGHTER OF KRYPTON RISE, BE AN EXAMPLE, FOR ALL OF APOKOLIPS.” The roars of followers, Parademons, minions and all sorts filled Harley’s ears. Her breathing became heavy. And Granny Goodness’s words rang in her ear above all the clatter, “If that’s your preference.”
On Earth: In the Cave
Everyone gathered at the training room, awaiting Batman to assign missions. Even though they were totally over getting missions from Batman and the League, this was different. Harley had been missing for over 2 weeks. She has disappeared before, and always came back. But never for this long. Batman’s and long with a few other Leaguers names were announced. Batman was about to begin, when a comm link blared in everyones ears, It was Captain Atom, “Batman, I think you should see this, turn on the screen, now.”
Batman, if he was confused, didn’t ipakita it. Instead his fingers tapped keys, and the screen came to life. And on it was the one thing their whole paghahanap was about. Harley. Superman shouted, “SHE’S ON APOKOLIPS!” Conner piped up, “I’ve heard of them, I met the forever people. They came from New Genesis. They are the world against Apokolips.”
“How in the world did she get there?” asked Oliver. Superman shook his head, “I Don’t Know.”
Batman commed the Tower, “Who else is seeing this?” Captain Atom replied, “Everyone on Earth with a TV.”
At the Watchtower: and every where else
Everyone there crammed to watch on the screen, just what was on them. It was some one most recognized. Roy looked at his TV screen, clutching Lian to his chest, “Harley?”
Cave:
The whole team wince as the whip cracked over Harley’s face. The sparkling green stone flickered at the end of the whip. Harley cried out in pain. Darkseid came into view now, “May this ‘Heroine’ be an example to all of Earth. When I come, you shall fall. Look at this earthling. A hero, invulnerable! She has fallen, at the hands of Darkseid. How is the mighty heroine now?” Soon knives were produced, and they grazed Harley’s skin, creating they Symbols and words of Apokolips. Harley screamed in pain.
Out in the World:
They people at Times Square gasped as the well known heroine, Obscurity was so easily tortured at the hands of a Power Crazed Being. They all gasped again, as Harley’s chest was revealed, and swards plunged into her stomach. Darkseid’s Omega beams targeted her well, making her scream at every burn. Smoke rose from the burns that came from all over her body.
Roy put Lian in her crib, and stared at the TV, Jade stood watching at a side. She never liked Harley much, but this was…brutal. As Harley’s lips burst into oozing blood Roy’s fist banged against the screen in agony. Jade took his hands away from the screen, but jumped back with him when blood covered the screen as was wiped away.
Watchtower:
Captain Atom, Aquaman, Flash, Black Canary, Zatanna, and Rocket stared at the screen in pain, they flinched as the face in the screen no longer was recognizable. This girl, wasn’t Harley. It was the face of pain, agony, death. Zatanna let out a gasp as Darkseid’s eyes glowed like never before.
Cave: (who is there? Nightwing, Batgirl, Batman, Robin, Blue Beetle, Wongergirl, Miss Martian, Superboy, Superman, Green Arrow, Wonder Woman, Beast Boy, Lagoon Boy, Martian Man Hunter.)
Batman’s eyes never left the screen, his face emotionless, but behind the mask, behind his façade, he was crying, screaming, angry, sad, pain. Miss M looked away as Darkseid’s Omega Beams blasted Harley’s chest. Blood was everywhere now, it covered Darkseid. He reached for Harley’s chest, while speaking, “This Last Daughter of Krypton could not be saved, could not fight. Nor escape. She was much madami that you Human Scum. Let this one be the example to the world, when Apokolips comes to rule.” And he then his arm raised, and…
Watchtower, World, Roy’s:
Zatanna ran from the room as the scene took place, everyone else looked away.
The people watching, screamed and vomited as the screen showed the gruesomeness of it all.
Wally and Artemis were at Roy’s and Jade’s place the minuto it came on. Wally stared in horror as Artemis and Jade exchanged looks of neusau and ran for bathrooms. Roy however, didn’t bother to move, he hurled in front of the TV.
Kaldur’s eyes bulged from his sockets. He was raised slightly from his chair, his knuckles going white from gripping the arm rest of his chair. Tears scaled down his cheeks.
Cave:
Miss M, Batgirl, and Beast Boy hurled as they averted their eyes form the screen. A few others clutching at their stomachs looked away, and Superman and Batman only stared at it.
Apokolips:
Darkseid smiled this time, Harley’s puso ripped from her chest, he held in his hands. Raised above his head, and blood dripped from the puso that had stopped pumping. The Aso were on Harley’s Carcass like dogs. His voice was the last thing anyone heard and he made sure of it, “May the Mighty bayani of Earth Take This, As Their Example. No One Will Stand In The Way Of Apokolips, Nor The Mighty Darkseid.”
And then…all the screens went black.
