No words were spoken, no eye contact was made that morning. This didn't seem normal to him. To him, he and Aryess were practically married because they have been living together for almost six years, and not talking to her made him feel partially empty inside. These thoughts crossed his mind as he typed in the computer. A hand touched his shoulder making him flinch and turn around to see Jet.
"Are you okay?" he asked. Bentley blinked and looked down with a sigh as he hesitantly spoke. " Not really..."
Jet blinked, surprised. He had never seen Bentley be so open about his emotions in all these years; it was worrying. Jet looked around the restaurant full of people.
"We're not that busy. Mind telling me?" he asked, staring at his cousin. His grey eyes flashed a glance back at Jet. "It's a long story " he muttered.
"I have time." Bentley looked at Jet still . "Well? Start explaining," Jet said. Bentley's lips thinned and he let out a sigh beginning to explain.
" I don't know what to do..." Aryess muttered to Allison who listened to her speak how she felt. "Don't you feel maybe talking to Declan would help? After all, he is your-."
"He hasn't been there for me for all those years. He not exactly someone I can open up to about this kind of thing," Aryess muttered with teary eyes. Her lips thinned as she sat back.
"Then what makes talking to me any different?" Her teary grey eyes stared at the look alike of her boyfriend as she pondered slightly, "Well, I mean, you're a guidance counsellor... And you're a woman... So I thought you'd understand madami than Declan would..." she muttered.
Allison stared at Aryess and nodded slightly. "How are you feeling about the pregnancy?... And how do you think Bentley is feeling about it?"
Aryess looked down "I don't want you to think I'm trashing your son..."
"Hon," Allison placed a hand on her knee, "Boys and men, or whatever you wanna call them, make mistakes and don't really understand how we feel. Bentley is no different, he is a boy after all." Aryess allowed herself a smile at this.
The sudden sound of bells of a customer entering caught the two's attention. A waitress walked up to the man with his hood up.
"Hi, can I help yo-," she let out a gasp as he grabbed her, pushing her into a wall, and threw a dagger directly at the two boys. They dived in opposite directions, dodging it. The weapon stuck in the wall.
Panic hit the resturaunt as people hid under tables. The man walked pasulong as customers fled from behind the stranger. Bentley crawled under empty tables and made his way behind the bar with Jet.
"What do we do?" Jet whispered to the grey eyed man.
"I'll distract him and you get the customers out of here," he replied to the brown eyed man. Bentley stood up but gasped dodging another dagger aimed at his head.
"Who the hell are you?" he growled at the hodded man.
"You don't need to know my name. All you need to know is I'm here to kill you," the man spoke. Bentley reached behind his back slowly and calmly gripping the ginto sword handle that sat in his pocket. As the man advanced, Bentley stepped backwards. He glanced at Jet who let out the last group of people and looked back at the man.
"Why do you want to kill me?" The man smirked, tackling Bentley to the ground, taking out a gun, and pointing to his head. Bentley panted hard and dared not ilipat a muscle.
"One ilipat and I'll blow your brains out, " the man growled and laughed lowly, but stopped when the words were spoken out from behind him. "Leave him alone."
The man looked back, keeping a firm hold on Bentley to see Jet pointing a gun at him. Bentley stared at his cousin wide eyed. When did he have time to get the gun behind the bar? The man glared and suddenly kicked Bentley to the side and got up, about to shoot Jet, but yelped out when Bentley tackled him to the floor, making the man pull the trigger with a loud bang.
"Bentley!" Jet shouted in terror as his cousin fell back gripping the wound on his lower leg. The man stood up pointing the gun at Jet as Jet was too shaken to focus on aiming his own weapon at the man. The man laughed pulling the trigger. Jet picked up a tray on the table, deflecting the bullet and making it fly into the kitchen, knocking over oil onto the lit oven. Things began to heat up and suddenly everything was covered in red and kahel flames.
