She fell back on her bed, hair sprawling out around her. She kicked off her shoes and stared at the blank ceiling, humming softly. Her eyes closed for a bit, trying to block out the pile of math work that would bring headaches and no sleep that night. If there was one thing she could change about school, it would be the option of taking math at all. Sighing she opened her eyes and grabbed her iPod for a few minutos of escape. She pulled a pagbaba book from her bag and opened it where she had left off last.
Page after page, she soaked in the story as if it were her own. The music in the background of her imaginative mind helped ease reality into a small thought in her subconscious mind. After several minutos had passed, the book fell off the bed. The girl that had been pagbaba the pages so ravenously was now fast asleep.
Her luxurious slumber was snatched away sa pamamagitan ng a soft meeting of flesh on hers. Her eyes fluttered open to see a smiling face and bright blue eyes.
“Alek..!”
With a small weary groan, she rolled so he could sit beside her.
“Sleep well?” he asked, the slight accent she loved pag-awit in his voice.
“I was. Till I was rudely woken up.”
She gave him a tired smile and he chuckled.
“I wanted to see if you'd have hapunan with me.”
She suddenly sat up, pushing the hair from her eyes.
“What time is it?”
“Almost 6:20.”
“I slept that long?! Oh no!”
“What's wrong?”
“I have math work to do. I'm sorry. I only meant to read for a bit but I fell asleep!”
“Will it take that long?”
“Longer. Oh where's my bag? I need my stuff!”
He gently grabbed her hands and pressed a halik to her lips, effectively silencing her.
“First, you need to eat. You'll feel better if you do. Then we can work on it.”
“..we?”
“Yes. I'm going to help you. I know how hard it is for you and, while I can't do it for you, there's no rule against me helping you.”
“....”
“Now, I'll give you some time to freshen up. I'll wait outside.”
He stood and moved towards the door when her voice stopped him.
“Alek.”
He looked back to once again see the smile that struck him to his core.
“Thank you.”
He returned the smile with a loving sparkle in his eyes.
“Anything for you, my darling Printsessa.”
