Mercy ran through the zeta-tube and into the mountain just as Batman, Superman, Flash, and Black Canary were walking in. “Am I late?” She shouted. Batman glared at her, “They won’t be here for another hour.” He said. “Are you serious? I just rushed here all the way from Chicago, thinking I was going to be late?” She said, panting. “Why don’t I just burn my head off right now?” She trudged her feet over to where all the adults were standing. “So, what am I supposed to do for the susunod 3,600 seconds?” Superman, Flash, and Black Canary all looked at her with confused expressions. Batman’s face remained solemn. “Everything sounds shorter when you put it into seconds.” She quickly added. Before anything else could be said, the zeta-tube started to announce each of the young bayani names. There was a short teen with black hair, a girl about her height with blonde hair pulled back into a ponytail, another guy with dark hair and a muscular build, a guy with streaking red hair, and another girl with red hair, like hers. The only difference between the hair mga kulay was that Mercy had kahel hair with gold-ish-yellow-ish highlights. The zeta-beam announced one madami arrival, out came a tall, dark-skinned guy with blonde hair. Mercy blushed slightly, and then shook it off and walked toward the teens smiling. “Hi! I’m Mercy!” She stuck out her hand as if she was expecting a handshake, but upon seeing the shocked expressions on their faces, she slowly pulled it back. The squeak of the leather glab was the only noise in the room. “Are you here to join? ‘Cause we already have-“ The teen with the mask started. Batman cut him off, “Mercy is here only to observe and ulat to her team.” He replied. Mercy wasn’t paying attention, her eyes were locked to the teen standing in front of the group, and his eyes were locked on hers. “Hello? Earth to Aqualad?” The girl with the ponytail said, snapping her fingers in front of his face, making him lose focus. “My apologies. My name is Kaldur’Ahm, but you may call me Kaldur.” He said, in a low and very formal manner. “I-I’m Mercy.” She stuttered out. “Yeah, we’ve established that already.” The ponytailed girl interrupted once again. “Sorry.” Mercy said, trying to get focused. “By the way, I’m Kid Flash, that’s Superboy, Miss Martian, Artemis, Robin, and I see you have already met Aqualad.” The redheaded teen spoke up. Mercy blushed again. “I’m sorry if you guys think I’m intruding or anything, but I have a team back in Chicago, and we’re just starting out. So I called my friend and got me here so I could learn from the best.” She smiled. Kaldur gave off a slight frown and looked away, “So, you will be working with the League?” He asked. Mercy looked confused, “What? I meant you guys!” She said, not knowing what their reactions would be. Kaldur’s face lit up once more. “Wow, nice compliment!” Robin said. “So, do you have any powers?” Kid Flash asked, suddenly appearing susunod to Mercy and making her scream and fall on the floor. “Fire.” She said, slowly getting up. “Oh, this is going to be interesting.” Artemis mumbled, acknowledging the connection with Mercy and Kaldur.
Eyes of Artemis
Dick’s POV:
He let a small laugh escape through his mouth. He knew it was Artemis and maybe she knew he was Robin. But it was a tiny chance he looked at her, standing in the crowd talking to Rachel a senior year. He smiled. Artemis was in good hands.
Artemis POV:
“Thanks” She putted the papers in her bag. “tomorrow a need them back so don’t forget them.” “Got it.” Artemis answered. Rachel started to talk “Well, let’s start then, We are now in the hall of the Gotham academy.” Artemis looked around, everybody was to their lessons except a few. The hall itself was made of grey, silvery stone. The pader reflected the blue sky and she thought of the strange boy. “Are you coming or not?” Rachel stood in the giant stanchion. “I’m coming.” As she walked to Rachel remembering the mysterious laugh.
