Thomas was running after me. He'd left Lily far behind him. It wasn't my fault I was faster than both of my best friends. He called after me. “Aw. Come on Esme! Give me a chance!! We all know you're the fastest. You don't need to rub it in!” I giggled.

“Yes. I am fastest. This is called Tag, Tom. The point is to run away as fast as you can,” I kept going at a pace faster than his. Once he was far enough behind, I began to scale the giant oak puno that was convenient placed in my backyard.

Chapter One

It was the very first araw of school in the small town of Forks, Washington. A pretty boring town if you ask me. Low crime rate, high optimism rate. Like I said- pretty darn boring!! Rose took the usual twenty hours to choose what outfit she wanted to wear. I was so close to just chucking her out the window, burning all of her clothes and making her go in a make-shift toga make out of a kama sheet. But I am too nice to do that. (Though, doing that would add a lot of fun to this boring town!! Forks would have their first albino Greek Goddess!)

Chapter 1- Waking Up

I opened my eyes. Was I dead? Whatever I was...... dead or alive. Something was different. I remembered the sound of rushing wind as I had quickly moved downward, away from the ligtas and stable ground. I remembered the feeling of sickness in the pit of my stomach. I suddenly hadn't wanted so badly to die.
