Has anyone ever wondered about how closely related Rozen Maiden and Konjiki no Gash kampanilya are?

Rozen Maiden's about mga manika trying to become (pretty much) the fairest of them all and Gash kampanilya is about little people named mamodos who try to become the King. Anyone else think they're similar?
